Akshay Kumar’s Divine Avatar Revealed in Kannappa Teaser, Release Date Out

The much-awaited film Kannappa, featuring Vishnu Manchu, Akshay Kumar, and Prabhas, has officially locked a new release date. The mythological drama will now release on June 27, 2025, instead of the earlier scheduled April 25 date. Along with the lead cast, the film also stars Preity Mukhundhan, Mohanlal, and Kajal Aggarwal in crucial roles.

Trade expert Taran Adarsh confirmed the news on his X (formerly Twitter) handle. The official date announcement took place in Lucknow, where the Kannappa team met Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath. During the meeting, a powerful poster of the film was unveiled, declaring the film’s worldwide release date. The gesture was not only ceremonial but also carried deep significance for Indian cinema.

Speaking about the occasion, actor-producer Vishnu Manchu shared, “Meeting Hon’ble CM Yogi Adityanath ji was a moment of immense honour for all of us. As someone who has poured a decade of my life into Kannappa, seeing him resonate with the soul of our film was incredibly moving. He understood that Kannappa isn’t just a story—it’s a cultural resurrection."

He further added, “The fact that he called for more such films to be made and seen affirms the spiritual and cultural power cinema can hold. His words were a reminder that our mythology, our history, our heroes must continue to find their voice on the big screen and be passed down to generations. It is a privilege to have the release date of the film – June 27, unveiled by him.”

The teaser, recently unveiled, has taken fans by storm. It features a powerful glimpse of Prabhas as the ‘Divine Guardian’ Rudra and introduces Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva, marking his grand Telugu debut. The visuals and background score promise a cinematic spectacle rooted in devotion, sacrifice, and heritage.
