The much-anticipated trailer of Kesari Chapter 2: The Jallianwala Bagh Massacre was launched in Delhi with much fanfare. Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, along with filmmaker Karan Johar, actors R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday, introduced the gripping trailer to an eager audience. While the film’s intense storyline left many intrigued, one particular moment from the teaser sparked a discussion, leading Akshay to address it directly at the event.

Responding candidly, Akshay said, “Yes, I used that word. But what surprises me is that people noticed this more than the word ‘slave.’ To me, being called a slave is a far bigger insult. I would have been happier if the discussion was about that instead.”

The visuals depict the Golden Temple and the devastating events that followed the brutal attack by the British. The story revolves around C. Sankaran Nair, a fearless lawyer who took on the British to seek justice for the massacre’s victims. Akshay Kumar portrays this determined legal figure, while R. Madhavan plays Neville McKinley, and Ananya Panday essays the role of Dilreet Gill.
Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film is a sequel to Kesari (2019), which showcased the Battle of Saragarhi. This new chapter aims to highlight another significant chapter in India’s freedom struggle. Backed by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Aruna Bhatia, and Adar Poonawalla, the film promises a power-packed courtroom drama, blending history with high-voltage performances.
Slated for a theatrical release on April 18, Kesari Chapter 2 is set to offer audiences an emotionally charged and thought-provoking experience.
