Ajaz Khan arrest: NCB is not ruling out drugs angle

Actor Ajaz Khan was one of the latest names to emerge in the ongoing Narcotics Control Bureau investigation only recently. The Narcotics Control Bureau on Wednesday detained the actor in connection with an ongoing drugs case that emerged out of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. 

Earlier today, the actor was taken for a medical check-up before being produced in Mumbai court for remand, reported ETimes. 

The report further mentioned that the NCB is not ruling out the drugs angle in the Ajaz Khan arrest case. “As of now we haven't found anything in the initial stage but we are not ruling out that angle at all,” NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede told ETimes.

For the uninitiated, Khan’s name came into light in the drug investigation by the NCB after drug peddler Shadab Batata was arrested. Speaking of controversies, in 2018, he was reportedly arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Cell of Navi Mumbai Police for allegedly possessing banned narcotic substances.

Khan has been charged with 27 A (Charges similar to actress Rhea Chakraborty) and punishment for financing illicit traffic and harbouring offenders, 28, 29,32 and 8C of the NDPS act.

In response to his arrests, "Only 4 sleeping pills were found at my home. My wife has suffered a miscarriage & is using these pills as antidepressants," Khan told ANI.
