Actor Makarand Deshpande to play antagonist in Alia Bhatt starrer Sadak 2

Actor Makarand Deshpande who is known for doing films like Makdee, Swades, Jackpot, Mere Pyaare Prime Minister, Chameli and Hawaa Hawaai to name a few has done several Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Telugu and Malayalam films. He is known for his strong performances and will be working alongside Alia Bhatt in Mahesh Bhatt's directorial, Sadak 2, which is a sequel of his hit film Sadak that starred Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt as leads.

Sadak 2 will be a journey of the protagonist (Alia Bhatt) who encounters with a god-man. Makarand will be playing a God-man in the film, and his character has negative shades. As per a quoted source by Mumbai Mirror, "It is an intense and challenging role, and Makarand has already started acting workshops with Bhaat saab. Like Maharani, played by Sadashiv Amrapurkar in the Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt-starrer Sadak, a unique look is being designed for him in the sequel."

The report also suggested that the film will go on the floor on the 18th of May. It stated, "On the first day at a city studio, the team will will shoot with Sanjay and Alia, with other members of the cast joining in at a later date. Apart from Mumbai, the film will also be shot at other locations of India.”

Sadak 2 is Alia's first collaboration with her father, Mahesh Bhatt. The film will also feature Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur in important roles.
