In the aftermath of the alarming incident at Salman Khan's home in Bandra, Mumbai, which occurred over three months ago on April 14, the Bollywood icon disclosed that the shooting was orchestrated by the criminal syndicate linked to Lawrence Bishnoi. Recently, a suspect in the Salman Khan house shooting case has come forward, asserting that he was swayed by Bishnoi's influence.
In the latest update on the Salman Khan house shooting case, Vicky Gupta, one of the accused, submitted a bail plea to a special court established under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA Act) in Mumbai on Monday. Gupta mentioned in his plea that he was influenced by the "principles" followed by Lawrence Bishnoi in his life, as reported by PTI.
The accused claimed that Bishnoi, currently incarcerated in Sabarmati jail, has been falsely implicated in the case and had no involvement in the shooting incident. Gupta asserted that the gunfire was solely intended to intimidate Salman Khan regarding his 1998 blackbuck poaching case. Additionally, the accused stated that he did not receive any communication from Lawrence Bishnoi.
The shooter mentioned he's from a small village in Bihar and lost his job in Tamil Nadu due to COVID-19. He got in touch with co-accused Sagar Pal afterward. The accused shared that being in debt "which compelled the applicant to commit the crime." He also clarified that there was no intent to harm Khan during the shooting.
The bail plea, as per the Indian Express, filed by lawyers Amit Mishra and Pankaj Ghildiyal, indicated that the accused was swayed by Lawrence Bishnoi's social media. It mentioned that he was "magnetically attached" to the principles of Bishnoi who was the "ardent follower of Mr. Bhagat Singh".
The plea mentioned that his accomplice Sagar had told him to come to Mumbai for a specific reason, "auspicious religious mission". The applicant of the bail plea was "in dire need of money to feed his family" and came to the city. The plea further stated that he had no "clue about the alleged incident" until April 13.
The Mumbai Crime Branch filed a 1,735-page chargesheet in July, which was obtained by India Today. According to the chargesheet, Salman provided a detailed statement regarding the shooting incident at his residence. The actor mentioned hearing a sound similar to a cracker when two gunmen shot at his Galaxy Apartment in Bandra.
Later, the 58-year-old star confirmed the shooting incident through his security guards the following morning. He implicated Lawrence Bishnoi in the case, stating that Bishnoi orchestrated the shooting with the assistance of his gang members.
The actor also expressed worry for his family members who were asleep at the time of the incident. He mentioned that the shooters had intentions to harm him and his family, leading to their planned and executed attack.
Both individuals were apprehended in Gujarat for the alleged shooting at Salman's residence.
On his professional front, Salman Khan is preparing for his upcoming movie, Sikandar, directed by AR Murgadoss. The film is set to hit theaters on Eid 2025 and is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. His most recent appearance was in Tiger 3.
