The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which administers the annual Oscars, has released the names of those who will be invited in 2022. 397 notable artists and professionals received invitations from the Academy to represent its organization in 2022.
The list includes 71 Oscar nominees, including 15 winners out of the 397 artists. According to the official statement, inclusion is chosen based on professional skills with a continued commitment to representation, inclusion, and equity.
Sharing the list on their official Twitter handle, The Academy tweeted, "It's time to announce our new members! Meet the Class of 2022." Prominent people from various backgrounds have been invited to join The Academy from India.
Reema Kagti, who has projects such as Gully Boy, Dil Dhadakne Do and Made In Heaven among others within her writing treasury, has also been asked to join the illustrious organisation from the writing department.
Aditya Sood, an Indian-American producer who has worked on movies including The Martian and Deadpool, is also included on the list, along with PR and marketing specialist Sohini Sengupta.
In addition to the Indian talent, Anya Taylor-Joy from The Queen's Gambit, Billie Eilish, Jamie Dornan, and award-winning Coda actor Troy Kotsur have also scored the invitations.
For the unversed, Kajol was last seen in the Netflix film Tribhanga. Her acting was highlu lauded by the fans and critics in the film. Apart from this the actress will next be seen in afilm titled, 'Salaam Venky'.
