Aastha Chaudhary on how Sidharth Shukla was happy to know about her roka

It is quite the instance of having a bittersweet moment indeed for actor Aastha Chaudhary right now. On one hand, she continues to be rattled like anyone else by the sudden passing away of actor Sidharth Shukla but on the other hand, she is all set to embark on a new journey altogether as she has found her soulmate.

The actor recently had a roka ceremony with Aditya Banerjee, who is a doctor by profession on 10th September in his hometown, Allahabad. Talking about it with ETimes TV, Chaudhary said, “We had finalised the date in August after Aditya met my family. We decided to have our roka ceremony on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, as there was no other date available. Unfortunately, I lost a very dear friend (Sidharth Shukla) on September 2, so we further toned down the ceremony. I didn’t post any pictures or speak about it earlier, as it didn’t feel right.”

As known, Chaudhary worked with Shukla in the latter's debut TV show, Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na back in 2008. They continued to be friends all this time and were close to each other till Shukla's untimely passing. In fact, Chaudhary talked about how he knew and was happy about the same as well, “I was quite close to Sidharth. In fact, during my second last conversation, I told him about my roka. He was very happy for me. In his inimitable style, he had told me, ‘Sahi hai. I am so happy for you. Ghar basa le.’ After that, I connected with him last on August 17. I am still grieving and yet to come to terms with this loss.”

On Chaudhary's marital plans, she said, “Though we have not finalized the date yet, we are looking at getting married in January or February.” The actress was introduced to Aditya by a common friend in January She shares, “We started talking and hit it off instantly. What attracted me to him was his kind, caring and grounded nature. He respects me and my opinion. He is sorted in life and has his priorities in place.”
