A Hit and a Miss for Hasan Zaidi...

He played the silent lover Anuj in Sony’s Ek Ladki Anjaani Si and won all hearts!! Now, Hasan Zaidi has bagged a plum role in the very popular afternoon show on Star Plus, Kumkum Pyaara Sa Bandhan, where he is seen scheming and plotting along with his mom, to snatch away all the richness from the protagonist Sumeet.

Talking about his role in the serial, Hasan says, “I play the role of Ratan Raichand, the cousin brother of Sumeet. His mother has an objective in life and wants to get a hold on the money and property; Ratan being the mama’s boy will do whatever his mom asks him to do!” When asked whether this character is an out and out negative one, Hasan remarks, “Well, it depends on how you see it. Ratan’s mother is very insecure, and having lost her husband, she wants her son to be at the helm of things, so what’s wrong in it?”

Kumkum Pyaara Sa Bandhan which has seen the rebirth of the protagonists, Sumeet and Kumkum is focusing on the college life of the duo now. “Well, as far as the narration given to me goes, the college track will not be stretched for long. Very soon, Sumeet and Ratan will have a clash at business and Ratan will try his best to make life miserable for Sumeet”, quotes the actor.

For the uninitiated, Hasan Zaidi was recently roped into Ekta’s longest running serial, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, where the actor played the role of Aditya Rai Singhania, a lawyer by profession who was presumed to be the long-lost son of Karan-Nandini. Well, what went wrong there and why was there a sudden change to the track? “I really do not know, as when I entered, I was supposed to be the son of the popular pair, at least that was what was hinted then. But they changed the track down the line, and now, I get to know that another actor is being roped in to play their son. You never know, anything can happen in Ekta land”, chirps the actor with a smile on his face.

Apart from Kumkum, the actor has also bagged a decent role in Sony’s soon-to-be-launched serial Dharmapatni. “I play a college guy there, who does not believe in any kind of relationship with women. He is a cool dude, who only knows to be happy and get what he wants; the character will have a negative shade to it”, adds Hasan as he signs off.
