15YearsofYuva : A Landmark political thriller in Bollywood

The 2004 political thriller Yuva which had a consistent storyline if referred to Indian politics even today. The Mani Ratnam film featured the new Bollywood trio i.e Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan and Vivek Oberoi.

The film showcased the need of youths in Indian Politics. The movie also portrayed the story of students entering politics. The leading ladies of the film included Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukerji and Esha Deol.

Out of this Bollywood trio in Yuva, the one who surprised everyone was Abhishek Bachchan as Lallan Singh as he impressed everyone with his portrayal of a local goon. This Mani Ratnam film was also released in Tamil with the south superstars.

Ajay Devgn and Vivek Oberoi too nailed their characters in the thriller. Well, the whole credit of the film must be given to Mani Ratnam who directed and wrote an amazing screenplay for this film. Also, Anurag Kashyap who wrote the dialogues of the film.

Yuva can be considered as a landmark film in Bollywood as the story of the film will remain consistent for a long time referring to the reality of Indian Politics.
