Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009 is a musical reality show that extends beyond just the participants. It is a contest between four musical maestros! 32 contestants selected from across 5 regions and 25 countries, will compete with each other under the guidance of the four mentors. The mentors enter the battlefield armed with their respective teams in the quest to find the deserving winners. The Guru's this time being Himesh Reshamiya, Pritam Chakraborty, Adesh Srivastav and Shankar Mahadevan. The four gharana that they would be mentoring being Rock, Dhoom, Jai and Lakshay respectively.
