Rano's father. He is the station master and had raised Rano on his own. He married Kamla so that Rano would receive a mother's love. Gurcharan has saved his land and money to give to Rano and plans on giving everything to Rano before Sukhi and Kamla get their hands on it.
Tina is the younger sister of Shanno who has come down from Canada to meet her. Tina is Ranbir's best friend who also, has fallen in love with him. She tries to support his with Rano. But due to circumstances, she agrees to marry Ranbir. But eventually she gets married to Vicky.
Kamla is Gurucharan’s wife, 18 years younger to him. Uneducated and hot tempered, and is known for her nasty tongue & demeanor. Detests Rano as she holds her responsible for her own ill fate and treats her step daughter nothing more than a burden. Her age difference with her husband limits her from living her dreams. She is also known for flirting and enjoys getting carried away by younger men. Scheming and lies are an intrinsic part of her nature.
