Chapter 13
Before.
"The police found shipment worth 500 million Euros worth of drugs, the lead suspects involved are Shaurya and Vikram Khanna, yet due to a lack of evidence no arrests have been made.
"It's sad really Catherine where ever you read Shaurya Khanna's name death is sure to follow, like the last ... The other reporter argued.
Mehek watched the news with Nehal. Shaurya and Vicky were out of the country on some business. Nehal put the tv off, and touched Mehek's hand.
"You shouldn't watch this She said, Mehek touched her swollen belly. And tried to force a smile onto her features. Over the last month the happiness she had initially found with Shaurya began to disappear, with his frequent business outings and anger outbursts. He was like an angry bull seeing red when something did not go his way. Yet he seemingly always tried to protect her like a cotton ball, just like her father did.
She hated the life he led, she hated the fact she noticed the blood in his fingers sometimes. She hated the bruises he came back with sometimes. But what hurt the most was the fact that she could not hate it really. Because it was him, and when he touched her, her entire body like a helpless magnet just huddled closer to him.
Love was harder than she had always assumed it was, she thought that once you married someone you loved it just got easier. You would be with them all the time. You would never need anything else. But Mehek began to wonder, did Shaurya want a girl baby so that it would soften the child's life and they would not have to become like him?
If they had a son, he would never be safe. Ever. It would be like Shaurya said either them or me.

Shaurya watched her beautiful face look at the door nervously.
"My men have surrounded this crappy house It was some cheap rental, "There is no way you can leave me He told her. He stood up and neared her. She had left without a note, without a goodbye. Without anything.
He could not help it but drag her against him. He never had control of his body when it came to her. Even though she had a thick pea coat on he felt himself react to having her so close to him.
"Who paid for this house Mehek, because I am sure that you would not have been able to pay for this house She had left with nothing. How did she get money to survive? What did she do. What surprised him the most was the fact she still wore her wedding ring.
"Do you wear that when you do whatever it is you do to feed yourself? He asked her, She would not look at him or answer. Her lips were sealed almost shut.
"Why won't you talk? He asked her forcing her gaze upwards. Mehek's eyes glittered and a tear ran down her cheek.
"Let me go She said softly, that stupid f**king thing in his chest, made him weak and he loosened his hold her and took a step back. She looked away and a tear ran down her cheek. Shaurya exhaled he could not be so god damn weak. If he was weak she would try and use it to his advantage the way everyone else tried to. It was business, he needed her back where she belonged in his house, with their son.
She would never be allowed to leave again. They would live like they did before, only he would not be blinded by his love for her. His love for her died when she disappeared leaving him to care for an infant alone.
"Why did you leave Mehek? I thought you said you would love me forever Shaurya grabbed the back of her head roughly. She looked at him with wet eyelashes.
Yet her lips, did not move. He pulled her close to him the urge to kiss her was so strong that he pressed his forehead against hers.
She still smelled so sweet. He pushed her away roughly. She tripped and fell down, her soft cry felt like a f**king knife in his heart. He bent down immediately to apologize but stopped himself when he saw the confusion in her eyes.
"I was going to make you my queen. But you ruined it. Now you will live as my property, no feelings no emotions nothing. He said coldly. He injected as much venom as he could into his gaze and forced her up with him. He went to the door and pulled it opened.
"I don't want to go please no She plead softly, she wanted nothing to do with him? she should have thought about that before she married him. Before she came running to him with her pregnancy. The thought of her never coming to him left a sour taste in his mouth.
He dragged her by her wrist and forced her outside, she looked around feverently for someone to help her. He reached out from his back and pulled out his gun.
She looked at him with wide eyes.
"If you scream, or make any noise or try and to run away I will kill anyone that tries to help you do you understand? He did not care what it took, all he cared about was taking her home. Her mouth dropped open at the ice he was spewing at her. Well what did she expect a bear hug and welcome back banner? She didn't deserve anything from him. Nothing.
She looked terrified in that moment. He had always strived to terrify his opponents but he never thought a day would come where he would have to scare her into submission.
She remained quiet and walked with him slowly to his car. He opened the door and motioned for her to sit inside.
"Shaurya please... She said looking up at him. With those incredibly beautiful brown eyes, she was a f**king witch. He felt himself weaken slightly, He closed the door with more force than necessary. He walked around the car and saw her looking at her hands in her lap.
"Do you really not want to see our child. If I let you go now would you go back to living the way you were on god knows whose money He could not stop the jealousy he felt. When he thought of the man, whose money she was living off, off. Did she promise him forever? Did she slip into his lap just to cuddle him the way she had done to him. His stomach twisted at the thought of her soft sweet pale skin, in bed with someone else. He would kill them whoever it was, She was his. His alone.
He exhaled and started his car.
She remained silent. When he chanced a look at her she was in tears. Crying silently with her face turned away from him. The only way he knew she was crying was the fact that her chest had little wet drops all over. Shaurya wondered if this next part was important brutality brought submission. She needed to be scared if he wanted her to never leave.
He stopped at the docks. Usually Vicky dealt with petty thefts. But he would today.
He held her hand and she walked with him a little slowly.
"Pick up your pace wifey I haven't got all day He told her, She stumbled over her feet and tried her best to keep up with his long strides. Her soft small hand in his felt so f**king good that he almost turned around and went back to his car. But he forced himself to move forward. This was an investment.
And he was an excellent business man he had his empire as proof. Nobody f**ked with him and lived to tell the tale. But because he loved her it was different.

He held his gun against a boy no more then 20's head.
"Now will you steal from me ever again? He asked him softly, his friends all watched in line terrified. She closed her eyes terrified, his one hand held her by his waist at his side.
"Please no She said horrified, as two of his other men held the boy down on his knees.
"No sir, I am sorry. I was so hungry... He cried out, Shaurya knew if he did not snuff him out the boy would grow hungry again and one day blab his mouth to either the police or one of his enemies two threats he could not afford.
"Look Mehek this is what I do to people that betray me. He told her, like he was showing her a new toy. She wouldn't look she hid her face into his shoulder. And clung to him like a scared little bird.
"You won't look I will only have to make it more painful for him He told her, Mehek looked up at him. Her eyes wide with fear.
"Please no She begged, they glittered so beautifully she was so damn beautiful his chest hurt, with the thought of what he was about to do.
He shot the boy and the blood hit her cheek. One clean shot he did not even blink. Over the years he had come to the conclusion he was going to hell but before he went to hell he would make sure he done everything that was deserving of being there. Mehek fell onto her knees and turned around she heaved a little, Shaurya pulled out his handkerchief and wiped his cheek.
He cocked his gun and shot all of the friends, as well one by one. If you had one rotten apple, there was chance it had contaminated the entire box. When he looked back at her she was curled into a ball with her face in her hands.
"Try and run away again from me Mehek, and I swear I will make you kill whoever helps you. And whoever helped you last time when I find them I promise you I will kill them in front of you He told her coldly. She looked up at him with vacant eyes.
That's right baby, your prince charming who fed your chocolates and followed you around like a lost puppy was gone. In place was the beast. The f**king beast you would have nightmares about.
Mehek was his there was no going back.
