I would look stupid if I try to review literature or wine, because I have zero taste in both. But I enjoyed reading what you penned beautifully. If only they can portray this evolution process as beautifully without tarnishing the characters beyond repair! Thanks for sharing your wonderful thoughts with us.😊

My two cents ..
The earth is scorched by Fire and pelted by rain is bruised and Battered.
The Rain is a life force that wants the earth to respond and will feel entrapped by the earth that tries to create an oasis on its charred surface .
It is not yet turned the giver , the sprouts of green have not yet erupted ... the rain will be desperate and pour more , only to stop dejectedly..
It sees the fire extinguished , the earth charred and its course blocked ... the life force that cannot gently spread becomes a swampy..marsh ...
But then ... just then... with it to stop .. to let seasons work it miracles ..the biggest healer of all time to weave its magic ... starts erupting the first green shoots ... the rain gone .. the scorched earth has finally turned into the nurturer it always was ...
The Earth needed time and the rain needed courage to stop ...

The evolution is complete... but the cycle is constant... The rain has to stop to return back when the time is right.. the fire has to burn its course and the earth has to open up to the pain
Hence will Shaurya's Fires be extinguished and Mehak's potential as the life force be realised so that their relationship nurtures and bear fruit

Wow! How beautifully you think! I am speechless!

But, in the context of Mehrya, is what you are saying an endless cycle of Showrya erupting to unpredictable and Mehak having to reign him back in only to start the cycle again? God! That is just tiring and testing beyond any limits for a girl! And that just is not a viable relationship!

So, maybe it is as in the case of first few crops the land has to be broken down, it is adamant and refuses to give the yield it is capable of. And over time, with each new season, it gives in more and eventually becomes this very pliable land. And the Mehrya struggle is probably something similar. It is not an endless cycle of the same thing, but with each cycle they move a little closer to each other and understanding each other and tempering each other?

This is such a beautiful post. And T. S. Eliot is one of my favourite poets. I often find myself quoting "I have measured my life out in coffee spoons" to myself.

Before I saw your post I was going to make a new one, far less symbolic than yours, but trying to make a similar point: the love story this time is not the same one as the one before the half wedding. At that time, even if he was attracted to her and loved her without admitting it to even himself, he was still playing a role. The role of an ideal boyfriend with no flaws, a prince charming come to fulfil every wish of his mate. Some courtships are like this: the initial magical days when each partner can do no wrong in the eyes of the other.

But marriage, or an actual day-to-day relationship are very different. Living with someone and being with them is not the same as courting them. There are insecurities and petty jealousies, there are the realities of who we truly are as opposed to who we think ourselves to be, there are the annoying habits and the flaws. In the case of Shaurya, for example, now that he really loves her, he is likely to be petulant, wanting all her time and attention, not liking it when she does something else, possessive, capable of jealousy and so on. At the same time, given the sort of contradictory nature he has, he is also likely to push her more than anyone else to attain her own dreams and be herself. He would want her to grow even as the fear of them growing apart would drive him insane.

If they focus on these things, what a wonderful show we could have. I don't really think that will happen, but I think this will definitely be an underlying theme of their relationship even as other, more overtly melodramatic events happen on the surface.

I agree Vedika, a different ball game altogether to actually live that love now. And you were also right about his contradictory nature. He is likely to oscillate between a jealous lover to a wonderful caring one. We are seeing glimpses of this already. There was this cute adorable Showrya yesterday who saw what KC was doing to her, did all that to lift her spirits up on one hand and on the other was this possessive one who in the same breath refused to acknowledge that he hurt her in the chain incident and chose to see it as his right and his mark.

I wish they would delve on these things and the various nuances of their nature and relationship and build a story around this. All the aspects needed are already there in their relation - love, beauty, drama, heart ache.

I am dreading that property track they are going towards.

Hi Diya
No what I mean is that as Mehak tackles Shaurya's flaws there will be times when she has to make her case and then withdraw .. she will be more effective that ways to get more changes
Personalities like Shaurya get more adamant with constant reinforcements
What I was trying to say was even with his major fires extinguished... that is his basic nature and that is how he will respond to changes ... he take a lot of time to
Internalise and accept changes ...

Yes she has often withdrawn. Or responded to how he is feeling, ignoring what he is actually saying. So he'll be spewing some nasty things to her while she'll go ahead as if that does not matter at all and focus on what is actually upsetting him. And that has always worked with him.

So, i know i decided not to post anything for sometime. But couldn't really resist after watching the recent episodes and a deep discussion with a dear friend. I should apologize for the length of it 😆

Are we witnessing one? The Evolution. Evolution of a ground habitable enough, fertile enough to sustain life. Not so soon i would say. We ignore the power of time, the power of physical and spiritual forces, the perseverance with which the nature worked and crafted itself into the marvel it is.

Shaurya, a blazing fire, a fire so furious which consumes everything, a fire so bright which doesn't allow to see what lies beneath it. It all started with a fire, but there is nothing singular in this world. Now here comes Mehak, a shower of rain, which is attracted by the heat. Then began the eternal conflict and the eternal love. The fire and the heat evaporated the drops before them even able to touch the flame. The cycle continued. The fire may be doused off, but the ground is still blazing hot, not habitable, not fertile enough. She was ready for the flame, but is she ready to see the ground lying beneath it? Is she ready for his love? A love replete with madness which is much more than his madness in hatred. The time he was faking, he was an ideal lover, after that he was an ideal hater, and now when its true love from his side with the very features that define him, how will she take it. Is she ready to step on the ground which is gonna burn her feet so badly? .Is she ready to walk over it. I am not sure. The pain will be unbearable, and once you start you will have to walk the entire length.

It needs time, more perseverance on the part of rain till the heat subsides and confines itself to the core. It cannot get extinguished, because this heat of the core defines the very characteristics, the very nature and is essential for existence. This heat when erupted from volcanoes prepares the most fertile grounds of the world. ("Remind me that the most fertile lands were built by the fires of volcanoes- Andrea Gibson) But again, the power of time, until the fire is confined to the core it will consume everything, even the element with which it has a relationship of eternal love. The only resort is patience, giving nature its time, so that it can create the marvel, a beauty which is self sustaining, a representative of completeness.

"The dove descending breaks the air

With flame of incandescent terror Of which the tongues declare

The one discharge from sin and error.

The only hope, or else despair

Lies in the choice of pyre or pyre- To be redeemed from fire by fire. Who then devised the torment? Love.

Love is the unfamiliar Name Behind the hands that wove

The intolerable shirt of flame Which human power cannot remove. We only live, only suspire Consumed by either fire or fire."

T.S. Eliot, Four Quartets

My special thanks to Tibs, this post is an inspiration from her post on Fire and Rain.

Chandrima, can't thank you enough for the valuable inputs. Love you guys 🤗

Vaishali,
What can I say...Simply a beautiful piece of writing...vey poetic & deep...👍🏼
I don't think I can do justice with my comments on this. I would rather sit back, read thru' this many times if I have to & appreciate it as much...👏

I Always find some unique thought in your post/ comments...
@ bold1 ..."Rain attracted to heat"...this is an interesting thought.

@ underline... So true . Mehak has a very tough journey ahead of her.
She needs all the strength & the support to endure the pain that comes with it.

I should also mention when I first saw the title, assumed it was the Evolution of The
Shaurya Khanna ...😆, but what you have come up with is simply Wow.

I also enjoyed reading some of the brilliant comments here... 👍🏼
Thanks Vaishali for writing so beautifully...🤗

Ah ok! Yeah, I agree with you. My thinking was more or less in the same lines too.

It is all in the small wins and small losses that is the way forward for her. He can be overbearing and suffocating in his show of love, but she cannot afford to be that. It is not in her nature either. He needs his ample space, like you said to process and assimilate changes.

Vishi, very well written 👏
'Red flag warning ', is the term used for extreme conditions, when the fuels are dry and volatile ,many a times MehRya have created global warming,😆 but then after initial heat douses off ,little or nothing will be left once the firepower blows away, except ashes, too much passionate heat or too much of rain (Mehak, has time & again tried to be a strict teacher, mothering him, rather than being a companion) made things soggy & MehRya often found their relation on shifting sand, for growth of a healthy relation ,to bloom & yield positive fruits the forces need to balance & work in tandem and give all the space that is necessary...the relation is not always about sunshine, there'll be occasional storms too,but they walk together holding umbrella towards eternity 😳

🤗 All thanks to you..
You just made it all the more beautiful, giving it a meaning and the required depth 👏
I loved the way you mentioned about the miracle of seasons, their healing touch which ultimately paves the way for most stable of the conditions. This rain though feeling trapped at the moment, owing to its fluid nature will permeate deep, not just being visible as an oasis on the surface but also creating a reservoir lying deep.
She needs to stop, yes, to maintain that constant cycle itself. Not to exhaust herself before the time, to maintain that magical touch it has, the touch which absorbs all the heat without altering its own nature. Let the forces of nature work, allowing seasons to take their course. A fruit borne this way will not only satiate the cravings but also release the seeds, maintaining the continuity.
