Vedika, very well said.

I loved yesterday's epi for this very reason. I have been brawling over here about Mehak. And I loved the last two episodes coz I felt they were reigning Mehak's character back to what they had built. Ofcourse all that romance was an added benefit! 😊

Both of them were shown in their true character - SK was touchy feely every chance he got, being pushy, getting annoyed with a no, and then for her sake getting his annoyance under control. Even his refusal to come with her was also within his character I felt.

And Mehak is finally back. As confused (and tempted probably) as she was, she did say no and mean it. But, what I liked more was her confidence walking back into Sharma residence hand in hand with Showrya Khanna! There was no guilt, no anger, no explaining, just this surity of her love by her side.

Great post as usual.
In fact it was your post saying you'll take romance however you get it that made me realise that I need to let go of my expectations and focus on what they are showing. Thank you 😃

Like you, I too sense that insecurity in SK, but I don't mind his possessiveness at this point just because I feel his love is very genuine & intense now. I have had my trust issues
with him even as recent as a couple of episodes ago, but the love he feels for Mehak is
trustworthy now. So, considering that, his over possessiveness at this point is understandable & tolerable.
But if this possessiveness were to continue later on in their reln.ship to the extent of
suffocation, that is sure to cause a strain betn. them.
It's all up to the writers now how well they balance SKs character without actually
taming him too much & keeping the essence of the original character intact.
The precap showing him repeating those lines did raise some concern, though...
We just have tomwait & watch...

So true and very well said.
As for their precaps, I think we have to watch as things unfold because sometimes the precaps don't reveal the entire picture.

Good post Vedika.
He is afraid of losing her.. and hence wants her at any cost.
I just want him to realise that he should not do anything that makes her sad.

Both the actors were superb in the yesterday's scenes

Great topic, and I enjoyed reading everyone's POV. I too felt that both were in character last night and Shaurya was expressing himself exactly as a man desirous of his woman, straight down the petulance at the end. But as a true gentleman he let go of his want and respected Mehek's no.
Personally more so than his need to become physical with her, it was the precap that on first glance, unsettled me more. It appeared agressive in a way that I felt creepy, but as I have learnt with ZKM I will need to wait for the whole scene before making any more of a judgment as to SK obsessive/possessive character.

BTW to those of you married ladies who have shared anecdotes of your SO behaviour, I totally commiserate. After reading I am convinced that there must be a universal husband code that has our men reacting so😲. Everything mentioned I swear I have experienced as well. Men, you gotta luv them😆

You are right when you say they were completely in character. SK is always in a hurry, and this is again a part of his natural instincts which he has developed after years of bad experiences with people around him. When he says, tum sirf meri ho, more than anyone else he is reminding it to himself. She needs to be protected, from all the evil people surrounding him, who can never tolerate his happiness. His responsibility is bigger, everything is at stake and that is the reason his fears are also justified seeing his nature.
Regarding yesterday's episode, i differ from the majority, not even for a moment i felt he was trying for any physical advances. It would have ended on a kiss even if mehak didn't stop him. Everything that he did was more of a teasing from his side which he has always enjoyed with her. He went for the kisses when he felt she was uncomfortable wearing that shirt in front of him. That was a way of making her aware of the level of proximity which they can share now, about which there is nothing wrong and it is not a thing to be uncomfortable with. Him being irritated when she refused for it before marriage was indirectly a part of the conversation that i was wishing for. I feel it to be a different way of sharing their thoughts with each other. He respected her opinions and also conveyed his feelings about it. So, it was indeed a two way conversation.
This was my inference from the episode 😊

Vaishali...@bold...you make an interesting argument.
So your interpretation is this is his way of reassuring himself that Mehak is & always will be
with him, besides him for now & forever...all because of his fear he might lose her again.
Good one..👍🏼
I never thought of it this way. To me, that precap was a bit concerning, until I read your
Point of view.

I am with you WRT the physical advances...It was pretty clear to me too that he was very much
In the mood to teasing her & that's it. I trusted him to respect Mehak's NO
Although I am not sure how he would have reacted if Mehak was just quite
...that would have been an interesting scenario...😉

All in all, it was a good episode & refreshing . The romance was neither OTT nor too cheesy

@ Vedika...Thanks for a lovely post.👍🏼
Agree with you about both of them were perfectly in their character.
And we are speaking of The Shaurya Khanna...whatever he does, he does in Style
& now his love for Mehak will be unlike anything else..😉

I will like to add my two cents, which is identical to what I have written in @tibs' post. I agree with @Vedika, @Vaishali @Ashmita, @Sudha. Yes, they were absolutely in character.

He is hell insecure & afraid, rather cynical, that somehow Mahek will be snatched away from him; again might be due to his past experiences. So his defense mechanism is on overdrive and he wants to stamp her as his by any mean. Raw intensity & passion, anyway, define him. Whatever he wants and does are with all cylinders firing. His possessiveness in the precap was a demonstration of these only, a bit scary. I will still say that it's still within limits and rather admit that I am kind of okay with it since it defines him. But over-possessiveness may later on suffocate the union & Mahek both and put him into emotional seizures. This is one of the reasons why I want Mahek to grow in character by leaps and bounds before the marriage takes place.

When I re-watched the episode, what I felt is that Shaurya might have stopped before the ultimate. Honestly, I could not find the raging hormones creating havoc. He seemed to be quite in control. But again, I don't trust the writers with this character. What I liked is that he respected her wishes.

Mahek has become confident and self-assured over-night and for the first time she proved that her "NO" is indeed a "NO" only. I am not too hopeful that she will maintain her stance, considering the previous tracks.

The only thing I did not like in yesterday's episode is the illogical stripping. Too much of anything is bad.

I wonder if this is the track they will take next - SK's possessiveness and insecurities??
Now that he has crossed the bridge from falling in love, realizing it and gaining it to actually living it, there is a gamut of new emotions that he has to deal with along with his baggage of old! Every emotion in him is a thousand fold more intense than any other normal human being. I wonder if all this will now play a havoc in their lives.

But as @chandrima said, Mehek has an uphill battle. I hope yesterday's episode was a glimpse of what she is capable of and she grows in maturity to be able to handle this Showrya!

Very good post, vedika!👏👏
I smiled at the face he made when she said this. I could almost hear Shaurya thinking "kya bakwaas"

>> Mutual dear!😆😆

I totally agree with you. I don't know why all are saying he shouldn't do that. In real too, many times girls says no but their bf/husband keep kissing them or touching them because somewhere they know she's getting affected and she wants it too.

When she said firmly, "No" then he stopped. Frankly, I don't like such dumb boys who stops at first denial 😛😆

and I don't find anything wrong in having a physical relationship before marriage.

Thank you 😊
I think he is trying to make her happy. But with him it always has to be on his own terms.
