I have a little different take.
Although, the fact that Ajay is a creep and the growing feelings Mehek has for Shaurya would definitely play a part in her break up with Ajay, it would be more about Mehek self respect.
The first thing Mehek says in the promo is "Haan ! Main hoon Moti !"
So I think it would be more like Ajay's family but her down and she standing up up for herself and saying that she is comfortable in her skin .
