Such an interesting topic and I'm loving all the discussion. Here's my two cents on this whole situation.

I had a strong inkling that after the whole public disgrace, Kanta and family would pull Mehek out of the competition or she would leave it on her own - only to get her married off. Had been too busy to put that thought across so imagine my surprise when the engagement pics started to circulate.

I feel that Mehek will be getting engaged to Ajay. There are a number of reasons for this to happen. Pammi and her son are greedy and money hungry. From the day Mehek has joined the show, they have shown a keen interest in her progress and the prize money. Which convinces me that Pammi would agree to get Ajay and Mehek engaged on the condition that she continue with the show and win it. Something that Kanta and family will agree to save their honour and avoid a legal hassle of breaking the contract that I am sure Shaurya would propose.

This also clears up all the controversy that Shaurya is currently surrounded by. It secures his business deal and allows Mehek to continue to participate.

Mehek's family is too jaded when it comes to Shaurya. They abhor him and rightfully so. And they still love Mehek - dishonour and everything. Kanta especially wouldn't agree to turn Mehek into a sacrificial goat and get married to a spoilt rotten brat like Shaurya. She just wouldn't have it.

After all the issues, Kanta and family would want to regain control over her life and Ajay would be the ideal option in such a scenario. I would love for this to happen. Shaurya gets what he wants, as do Pammi and Ajay and as does Mehek's family and it allows the possibility for Mehek to complete her challenge of winning the ISC competition.

Also, this would set the perfect stage for a conflicted jealous Shaurya who's still around Mehek and working with her but who knows she's someone's fiance now (something I had mentioned ages ago in a post on this forum!). This increases the tension between them, especially when we know MehRya share an unspoken attraction and Ajay is sleazebag and Shaurya can't stand Mehek even smiling at Rajiv Sir.

This also opens the doors for more drama between the two and a far more amazing buildup of their relationship.

I'll be watching to see where it goes but am keeping my fingers crossed for Ajay to be the fiance! It would definitely be much better that way!

So I am glad that you have clearly written it down. Kelly & Kash- I'm warming upto Ajay-Mehak engagement now. When it falls apart eventually due to Nehal, Mehak will be able to empathise with Shaurya's equation with Shruthi better.
He is still hungup over that betrayal and she can help him get over that,like she might do in her more compassionate way.

I can also lap up a forced- pretend MehRya engagement. They can develop their feeling pretending..cliched still..

I think, they are trying to move it beyond the cookery show now, as non-invested audience might be losing interest.

Weighing both the sides,I'd say the scale are tilting more in favour of Ajay..as in my earlier post I had mentioned about Nehal's joyride..resulting in her pregnancy & it would complicate the lives of both the protagonists..Pammi & family are gold diggers, they are forever questioning the values of Sharmas when in reality their own values are questionable..call me a sadist but I so want more drama & masala 😆😆plus if it's with Shaurya ,it would mean gradual weaning of strong characters from Sharma family, there'll be little left for them..the story is still at it's early stage.Who knows Mehek might still return to competition (some clause )because if she gets engaged with Ajay then there has to be a way for her to meet Shaurya..how else will the story move forward..& by then Mehek will be a forbidden fruit for Shaurya..😆

Guess, CVs are sticking to their timeline of DEc wedding for Sonal & Mehka's wedding before that.
