Yes, brave hearts are ready to face the tidal wave which hits the forum time & again.

My first exposure to a serious crime of rape was while watching "Damini". Path breaking movie won accolades, dummy never "understood" the word rape.

Wonders of growing years, next encounter was watching "Bandit Queen". Path breaking biography & bold movie, dummy never "understood" the word gang-rape.

2002, the news of Mukhataran Bibi hit headlines. Dummy sits back to "understand" what is rape/gang rape. Wonders of growing years has ended?

Being mentally & physically aware of your surroundings, we begin to form individual opinions. Rebel is born.

"Rape Me" song by Niravana often "understood" otherwise by popular belief. It was not words of rape being used. It was his emotions.

Then came "Polly" another song by Nirvana; now "understood" as another love lorn song for a girl Polly. However this one was dedicated to a 14 year old girl who was abducted, tortured and raped in United States.

Kurt Cobain "is" a genius for me.

By 2016, we have now been fed to all the rape news, thanks to the Nirbhaya case. Another Nirbhaya recurred in the slums of Rio and was hushed up due to Olympics.

Yes every "nation wants to know", the sensation behind the gory act, to "undestand", to be judgmental rather than finding a middle ground these deep rooted problems.

Unless you directly work with rape victims, the criminals who did it as -- counselors, social change agents , legal eagles its very difficult to "understand" and draw conclusions.

Just by reading to believe the popular news or fiction or world with e-valor (sorry Engin..borrow your word here) will not help us.

What is rape? A dictionary or wikipedia can assist you.

Why does a person commit rape? No university so far has been able to establish the exact reason for this heinous act.

What does the victim go through? Nobody...yes nobody can understand except the victim! Its only theory of empathy.

The relationship of rape victim and rapist is not E= MC2.

Lastly, the director Hilal of this series is responsible with her home work on this subject. FG running successfully in 44 countries is an indicator, that its not a promiscuous drama.

And we as audience, sitting in comforts of our family & home can make any number of abla nari, cringy villain or hottie handsome comments. Its purely fictional and escapist.

Dummy ran to her fav shoe store Bata for a "FG" shoes, out of stock on board.

Yes, NO women needs them.

Well written Shanaya. It feels like few days back when we were judged on being supportive of Vural. I guess we'll have to keep writing in our defense till the day we discuss the last episode of this show.

Not gonna write anything more about it coz I want to enjoy the discussions here.

My weirdest dream last night- I watched an episode of friends before going to bed and I dreamt Beren and Engin having coffee in central perk 🤣 😆

Weird dreams coz no Vural since two episodes...He's chilling way too much at the farmhouse I guess... And I'm also ranting too much about it 🤣

I'm done with it and will only concentrate on the show and its analysis now on.

@Mohabbet.Girl - If you had read the post properly, you wld know that its says "some people" not all and also, "many posts" not all. Clearly the post is aimed at those comments in which FG has been criticized for her behavior towards Kerim unmindful of his role (not so long ago) in her rape and the fact that her response to him is a natural justifiable consequence of that. That people have also been appreciating her for trying to become financially independent doesnt justify the criticism being heaped on her with respect to her attitude towards Kerim. These are two mutually exclusive points.

If you say people understand and empthasize with her pain given the hell she has gone thru, how come there have never ever been any rebuttals to such comments. Forget rebuttals, no one has ever even said that they disagreed with this pov and the reasons for the same as you said above now when I pointed out the issue. On the contrary, when such posts are responded to positively as a whole, its obviously seen as a tacit approval of these views. And no one is giving lesson in manners here by saying this imo. Manners... where did that even coming from. Thats not what this is all about. Its about presenting a differing view to many such views being expressed time and again. Address it if you can on merit instead of getting defensive and outraged. There is no cause for outrage as such comments cannot be denied and are there for all to read. You dont even have to go far back, just go thru some recent comments. Someone is saying, regardless of what Fatmagul went thru she has no right to behave the way she is behaving with Kerem. LOL...Seriously? And this is not insensitive and crude? Does this reflect a pov showing an understanding of her plight and what she has gone thru and Kerem's role in itt? I dont see anyone challenging this pov or coming up with a contrary opinion to it in its direct response.

One only has to read such comments to know the hollowness and superficiality they reflect. One cant help but be sad at the quality of a major part of the discourse here and that too on such a brilliant, nuanced, subtly made show touching upon such a sensitive subject . Instead of getting offended, just browse thru the comments in an honest and unbiased way and you may find it in yourself to acknowledge it too, if not publicly, atleast privately to yourself

One doesnt have to "GO THROUGH" rape to be able to have an idea about the horrifying heart-wrenching pain such victims go through.

One doesnt have to "GO THROUGH" rape to be able to have a little bit of sensitivity and compassion towards such victims and understand their state of mind, attitude and behavior towards a person they see as having facilitated the rape among other things. Even if that person is now acting as their guardian angel

One doesnt have to "GO THROUGH" rape to have the basic humaneness to avoid mocking/making fun/calling them names/being resentful and angry at them and their natural reaction towards someone they see as having helped the crime being perpetrated against them

One doesnt have to "Go THORUGH" rape or work with rape victims in NGOs etc to be able to show them basic humanity

All this just requires "BEING HUMAN" and a ittle bit of maturity, objectivity and common sense.

Calling it just work of fiction cannot and does not justify the crude, insensitive, tasteless remarks of the kind being made here for FG as mentioned above in some posts.

Abt the sad quality of discourse here these days @MysticalDawn... couldnt agree more. No wonder most people have disappeared from here and only a handful remain. As is evident, most of them keep repeating the same things, scratching each others backs or ganging up against anything that they think even remotely challenges the frivolous nature of comments from many here, largely devoted to salivating over the male cast members of this show or sharing vivid "sex dreams" about them. I mean, appreciating male cast members is one thing but sharing vivid "sex dreams" about them is heights of cheapness and vulgarity and taking things a bit too far. And I am saying this being a guy lol.

I mean, forget the fact that this is a classy show on a sensitive subject and at the very least deserves quality discussion/deconstruction of episodes, the very fact that this forum is open to all age groups should be enough for people to show restraint and avoid sharing their "sex dreams" here. If anyone is so eager to share such things, they cld do so via private chat sessions among themselves, at least ensuring that things are kept cool, classy and decent in a public forum like this where everyone is not interested in being subjected to their cheap obsession with sex or their sex dreams imo. Could not avoid bringing this up as someone talked about cheapness in one of the comments above

And rape is NOT just a feminist issue as someone said above, its also a humanist one. On another note, seeing the nature of so many insensitive comments here regarding a raped woman and her psyche, no wonder its said that women are their own worst enemies. How sad is that imo.
