When you see Fawad Khan, you see the whole package. The personality, the voice, the presence " the whole deal, really. Because, of course, we're all perennially crushing on him. Long before he entered Bollywood wearing royal suits in Khoobsurat, Fawad was already rocking bandhgalas in the show Humsafar. Somewhere FK became synonymous with suits and tailored shirts. You could totally picture him in Savile Row suits channelling an old-world glamour. Somehow he just knows how to get it all right, from the buttons down to the cuffs.

So, we present to you Omar Farooq, the Pakistani designer who designs for him, to break down his timeless looks for us.

Keeping it dandy:

"Fawad has always had a particular style. Keeping that in mind, we have trimmed it down to a more structured, bespoke, dandy look. Our aim is to make a statement with whatever we create for him. Last season, it was all about structured, striped suits. This season, we are looking at a more modern Napolitani tailoring style, whereby you stick to raw, unstructured stitching with the fabrics bringing out the beauty of the suiting. The guy can carry off anything, which makes it easy for us to play around. That's Fawad Khan."

The dapper dude rocks classic looks

Reluctant fashion icon:

"Fawad was initially reluctant and used to ask for sketches and reference images. But the minute the trust developed, he has left it all to me. I receive details of the events he has to attend and the rest is up to me. There has never been a conflict. But it has been a continuous challenge to provide an entire ensemble " from inception to the final product in tandem with the evolving fashion trends while keeping Fawad's own style intact."

Fawad at his best:

"His best look was definitely for a charity event in London last year. He wore a white seersucker suit with blue pinstripes, casually styled with a pocket square and shoes without laces. This, topped with sunglasses. It was certainly one of his best looks done by me."

When a shoot came to a halt:

"This one time we were shooting in Lahore for a spring/summer collection at an exclusive boutique, someone got a whiff of Fawad being there and within five minutes, there was a mob of women claiming that their children were huge fans. But it was really evident who the fans were. Our escape was pretty hilarious with all the women hounding him for pictures."

Pro tip:

"The length of your trousers should kiss the tip of the shoes. Make sure your dress shoes aren't too pointy. Your socks need to be right, chinos need to be rolled up, and shirt sleeves should be rolled up the right way."
