What a fascinating show this was! ❤️ I absolutely enjoyed watching it, even though I wasn't planning to watch earlier. Neither I was interested in Sanam nor in Adnan (though I loved him in MQMD the most :P) but Mere Humdum Mere Dost has made me love them.
Sanam's portrayal of a girl suffering from inferiority complex was so relatable... But then she had Haider, who helped her come out of that feeling like a true friend, well-wisher. <3 And while they both became best friends, and he helping her to groom up her personality, they fell in love with each other! 😳 It's a natural fact that two people spending a lot of time with each other may end up developing feelings for each other, and in Aimen's case, she obviously had to fall in love with him... I'm saying this because Haider came into her life when she needed someone the most, and she lost her mother, she wasn't too close with her father, and had no siblings to share her problems with. Haider not only supported her emotionally, but made her bold, encouraged her to face the world with confidence and last but not least, made her realize that she can build her own identity through her sheer hard-work and dedication. 👍🏼
Haider, like he said, stopped trusting women after Sajila left him and this was the reason he didn't go for a second marriage, Aimen then came into his life, which made him realize that there are still good people living in this materialistic world. :)
Obviously it was irritating to see him denying his feelings for Aimen, but if we think from his point of view, it was not easy for him to accept it. There was around 16 years of age difference between him and Aimen, so obviously he would worry about what Toufeeq would think about it.
But Toufeeq too was understanding enough, and infact said openly to Almas that he always liked seeing Haider and Aimen together. (And I literally went 'yay' when he said that! 😆) And what was wrong in it? In my opinion, two people who understand each other, care for each other and love each other have the right to be together, not even age difference can make them stay apart. Toufeeq did realize that Haider was the reason Aimen transformed into a confident and bold girl, while Haider wouldn't get anyone else better than Aimen! 😃
I loved that dialogue which Haider said to his friend while talking about Aimen... Something like he was the one who made her bold, boosted her confidence, but he never realized that she could stand in front of him boldly and question him with the same confidence! ⭐️
Talking about other characters, I liked Almas and Toufeeq as the story progressed. Though Almas became a bit mean when Sajila asked her to get Aimen married so that she could get back with Haider, but even Almas understood what Aimen felt for him, and it was really nice to see how she talked to Aimen about him towards the end. I'm glad the makers didn't go with Almas being all step-mom kinda person, else it would have been the typical story of innocent girl being humiliated by her step-mother! 😆 Toufeeq hardly showed any concern towards Aimen initially, but I could see somewhere that he wanted the best for his daughter... And come one, which father wouldn't want that? The best scene of him with Aimen was when she hugged him and cried, making him realize that he is not deprived of emotions ; he simply needed to show her that he did care for her. 😳
I liked Sahir and Bibi too. Sahir's over-acting of being unconscious was too much, like he also mentioned, but it was good to see that finally both siblings became friends. 😳 And then they kept contact even after his vacations were over. Agian, it was Haider who requested (or say ordered) them to get along well with each other! :D
Lastly, Sajila was an unbearable character...😵 Especially when she tried different cheap tricks to impress Haider... and kept warning Aimen to stay away from him! I mean who was she to warn her? Haider divorced her because of her own selfishness, and now she comes back claiming that wants an apology from him, and get back with him once again? She was the only character who got on my nerves in this series. 👎🏼 But the girl who played this character is pretty. 😛
Also, I love the OST of this show. Its so melodious and lovely. <3 ❤️ I'd love to watch more dramas of such genre.. MHMD impressed me alot since I wasn't watching any show regularly on Zindagi and this was something new to watch! <3
