Junaid:
Junaid is the father of Zaroon and Sara. He's a sensible and mature man, but his biggest drawback is that he's not assertive even in matters that needs his assertion. He comes across as a meek husband and father who does not have much say in his family matters. He bonds well with Zaroon, coz Zaroon values his advice and also realizes that it his his father who had to compromise a lot in his marriage. He's a positve peace loving person who is too mild to tell his wife when she's in the wrong. But when sought, he gives practical and good advice to his son and daughter and also forgives his wife easily when she realizes her mistakes.
Gazala
Gazala is the mother of Zaroon and Sara and considers herslef as a modern liberated careeo oriented woman, but does not realize that her career and social commitments were her priority always and her children and husband were secondary. The few times that her husband tried to point this out, she misunderstood and accused him of trying to curb her independence. Also she did not want to put restrictions on her children, especially her daughter Sara coz she didn't want them to accuse her of generation gap. She felt that she was instrumental in her children's upbringing and success, but she really didn't know what her children really wanted or how her children really were. She encouraged her children to make their own decisions, but did not guide them.
Sir Abrar:
Sir Abrar is the one common person between Kashaf and Zaroon and though he's not related to either, but both hold him in high esteem. With Zaroon he has a more informal relation, coz other than being his professor, he has also been their family friend for long and has known Zaroon always and is very fond of him. He's also very fond of Kashaf coz Kashaf has been his most outstanding student and also coz of her behaviour. Kashaf sees a father figure in Sir Abrar and respects him greatly.
He's the one Zaroon goes to when he wants to marry Kashaf. Sir Abrar very logically and rightly points out all the pros and cons to Zaroon regarding marrying Kashaf and again logically and honsetly discusses with Kashaf about Zaroon. He is instrumental in Kashaf and Zaroon marrying each other.
Sara
Sara is Zaroon elder sister. She was the product of the environment she was brought up in . Girls grows up watching their mother and sometimes should say get more influenced . Zaroon was the person who missed his mother,s presence in his growing up years and thats why wanted a wife who is with him at every step .Sara followed her Mother,s lifestyle where she thought she is old enough not to answerable to anyone . As once Ghzala told her husband that my children knows whats right or wrong . But she did not try to put values in her about right or wrong and thats why she suffered . And then she learnt from her own experience that you have to compromise in the marriage to sustain it . Sara,s character was very well sketched and was a learning experience for many girls coming from her kind of background . Not to take people for granted .
Asmara
Asmara is Zaroon's childhood friend and is in love with Zaroon and has always taken for granted that she would marry him. She is just like Zaroon's mom and sister, with very liberal outlook towards life and being the only child, she's more indulged and spoilt. She is arrogant and does not hold high opinion about people below her in the social ladder. She dislikes Kashaf especially since Osama is so taken in by her and Zaroon too tends to give her importance. She does not take too well to Zaroon's dictates, especially regarding her and her clothes and feels Zaroon is old fashioned and a chauvinist. She and Zaroon have a lot of clashes coz Zaroon is a conservative person and does not approve of Asmara's liberal ways, especially her mixing and having friends of the opposite gender. She is not a very likable character, but I liked her when she told Zaroon how she felt about Zaroon constantly dictating her during their engagement period and how claustrophobic she felt and when Zaroon told her about his mirraige with Kashaf being a mistake and that Kashaf doubted his fidelity and she said that he was in the wrong and she would have felt exactly the same as Kashaf felt.
Osama
Osama is an extremely happy-go-lucky guy and as Zaroon said, usse kush rehne ki bemaari hai.' Nothing seems to dampen his happy mood ever. He's a very good friend of Zaroon, and does not shy away from pointing out to Zaroon his mistakes and opposes him when he feels Zaroon is in the wrong. He secretly loved Kashaf during their university days and was a great admirer of hers and defended her amogst Zaroon and Asmara. Also he was the one to make Zaroon realize that it was Kashaf who had always been in his sub-concious mind and unconciously Zaroon had compared Asmara to Kashaf. He finally takes up the courage to rpopose to Kashaf after many years, but takes it in his stride when Kashaf turns him down.
