Feriha and Emir - episode 1 summary

Feriha (Hazal Kaya) is a beautiful girl who lives in a luxury neighborhood from Istanbul, but her family is a poor one. Her father, Riza, is a doorkeeper for a block, Zehra (Vahide Gordum), her mother, is a cleaner and she helps her husband cleaning the houses of the rich people. Feriha has a twin brother, Mehmet, who attended just the primary school and now has problems finding a job. They have a younger brother, Omer, who is about 10 years old. All of them live in a small apartment in the basement of the block, they have many things given by the rich ones and generally they can't afford living a decent life.

Feriha is the only hope of the family, because she is very intelligent and has won a scholarship at a private University. There, she meets only rich people's sons and daughters and feels ashamed with her origins. When she accidentally comes across Emir Sarrafoglu (Cagatay Ulusoy), one of the richest and most handsome student of the University, - nicknamed the heir of the night life because his father, Unal, has a very fancy night club, Hills - Feriha pretends she is rich too and tries to behave like the rich ones, hiding who she really is. Fortunately, she has a good friend, Cansu, who lives in her block, and who often gives her expensive clothes and footwear. Therefore, it's not very difficult for Feriha to look like the rich ones.

In the first episode we also meet Emir's friends: Koray, the son of a politician, and Hande, a beautiful blonde haired young girl, who likes to manipulate everybody and who can be dangerous, sometimes without her will. She is hopelessly in love with Emir, while Koray is in love with her. Emir, who usually is a typical play boy, feels attracted by Feriha, because she is much different from the other girls he had met.

They become friends and one evening when they are together on a car ride, Emir's car stops suddenly. It's raining heavily and Emir calls a mechanic. Unfortunately, the mechanic that comes, is Mehmet.

Feriha tries to get out of the car without being seen by Mehmet, and goes home. Emir leaves the car to Mehmet, because he can't repair it immediately. He is called by his mother, Aysun, and goes to the hospital where is his little brother, Can.

Feriha is scolded by her father because she lied concerning an expensive mobile phone: she got it from Emir as a present, but at home she told her parents that Cansu gave it to her. Learning the truth, that Cansu didn't give Feriha anything, Zehra and Riza believe that the phone was stolen and punish Feriha by not letting her go to school anymore.

Cansu's step mother, Sanem, tells her that she will send her to learn for the University in another city. Cansu doesn't want it and threatens with committing suicide. Finally Cansu take some pills and in the morning it is Feriha who find her unconscious and takes her to the same hospital where Can is.

Mehmet, seeing what expensive car has Emir Sarrafoglu, wants to take a ride by it, together with a colleague, and has an accident. The car is badly crushed. Mehmet's family find out about the accident only the next morning.

Riza and Mehmet are at the police station, with Unal and Emir Sarrafoglu. Feriha is on the hall, but she tries to hide herself. Riza and Mehmet don't try to avoid paying for the car's damages, even if they have to pay a lot of money. They prove to be honest people, though, Unal despises them because they are poor. Anyway, Unal despises his son too because he was a fool to leave such an expensive car, days on end, at the mechanic's.

Zehra is cleaning Sanem's house. They try to sell their valuable things to find the money for the first bank rate. Feriha may go to school again, because her mother insisted to Riza. At the University, she has to lie about the reason of her absence and she avoids speaking to Emir. Mehmet is fired from the mechanic's and tries to find a job in the newspapers ads. Feriha loses some beads in a classroom and when she goes back to find them, Emir is there with the beads in his hands. They try to speak together and Feriha wants to tell him the truth about her, but still she doesn't have enough courage.

Hande locks the door and the two remain inside, blocked. Emir and Feriha start talking about themselves, but although Feriha intends to tell Emir the truth about her origins, she still pretends to be rich and hides her social background.
Hande goes at Koray's and finds him with Gunce. She imediately realizes that they are having a love affair and thinks how she could profit out of this information. Later Koray and Gunce come and unlock Emir and Feriha from the classroom.

At Feriha's, everybody is worried because her mobile phone didn't have signal while being locked inside. Riza goes in the countryside to sell a piece of land that he owned so that he can find money to pay Mehmet's debt for the damaged car.
Zehra wants to sell her gold bracelets too.

At the university Hande starts spreading gossips about Feriha and Emir having spent a long time together locked in the classroom. Feriha, being very angry at this, beats Hande and risks to lose the scholarship. Hande is in love with Emir and she desperately tries to separate him from Feriha and to throw mud at her. Some colleagues recorded the fight on their mobile phones, so the video is soon published on the Internet.

Cansu sees the film. Previously, Cansu had a nervous breakdown and her parents are talking about it and about the fact that they should speak with a doctor and their daughter should take some pills.

Koray invites Feriha to an event that will take place at night in the Hills club, owned by Unal Sarrafoglu, Emir's father. In the beginning Feriha says that she can't come, but later she thinks what lie to say to her mother. She takes one of Cansu's dresses (Cansu often gave her clothes if she didn't like them anymore) in her purse and lies to Zehra that she will sleep at Cansu's during that night. When she appears at the Hills, in a violet sleeveless short dress and high heeled boots, everybody is startled by her beauty.

Everybody is astonished seeing beautiful Feriha in the club, dressed in the violet short dress. Emir can't move his eyes from her. Later in the night Feriha complains about a headache and Hande, ready to mock of her, gives her a "pain killer" (in fact an Ecstasy pill). Feriha is not suspicious and takes it. Very soon she begins to act strangely, as if she was very drunk and Hande records everything on her mobile phone. Emir takes her at his place and when she sees herself in the mirror she doesn't recognize her own appearance, saying that this woman in the mirror is not herself.

Zehra goes to clean Cansu's apartment and finds a piece of paper where Feriha wrote Emir's name and later finds some magazines with articles about Emir. Feriha comes home and goes to bed, crying. When Zehra sees her, she thinks that her daughter must be in love. Riza and Mehmet come home from the countryside. Feriha accepts to talk with Gunce, her friend.

Koray watches on his PC the video that he made at the club and sees the moment when Hande took a small bag with drugs from a very well known provider. He immediately goes to Hande to scold her, realizing that she gave Feriha drugs to make fun of her.

Again called by the university staff, Hande admits that she started the fight with Feriha (now having proofs that Feriha takes drugs, the fight issue becomes unimportant for Hande). For the moment, Feriha is not punished anymore. They both try to become friends now and Hande makes Feriha spend her money on expensive clothes (in fact, there was the money from all the people living in her block, for the utilities). When she comes back home she asks Sanem (Cansu's step mother) to help her with a sum of money lying that someone has stolen it from her purse.

The episode ends when Emir wanting to see her, comes to her block. She is out preparing to bring home a basket with food from the market. Emir almost sees her with the basket in her hands, when Sanem calls her name ...

Sanem calls Feriha from her balcony, so Emir turns his head around and he is almost about to see Feriha carrying her basket with food. She rapidly throws it behind a car and goes towards him. Emir offers her a splendid bunch of white orchids, and remains with the idea that Feriha lives at the 3rd floor. Feriha puts the flowers in a bin, so her parents can't see them in the house. Zehra starts working as a maid in Hande's house and Feriha starts working in the restaurant owned by Cansu's parents. Zehra finds the orchids in the bin and looking up better, she also finds a note written by Emir. Then, she takes one orchid and puts it on Feriha's bed near the note, hoping she will tell her who is the boy that gives her flowers. Feriha, on the contrary, doesn't tell her anything about Emir. One day Riza hears some gossip about his daughter from a neighbour. Zehra loses a note with Emir's name on it at Cansu's and her mother scolds her thinking that Cansu didn't give up to her obsession for Emir. Cansu doesn't understand what happens, but she is going to investigate who wrote that note and who left it in her room.

Emir loves Feriha more and more, he comes in the evenings at her block and looks at the 3rd floor, hoping to see her in the balcony or at the window. One day they talk in the park nearby and Cansu hears them, so she goes at the window to see to whom Feriha is speaking. She sees them kissing, but she can't figure out who is the young man. Hande wants to get the CD with the video clip recorded at the club where the drug dealer appears on some images. Koray doesn't want to give it to her, because he knows Hande could use it to blackmail somebody. Therefore, Hande has to find another way to get that CD, and asks Gunce to help her. Gunce takes it during a visit to Koray who is her lover now, while he is in the batroom. Hande goes straight at home and rushes to watch the whole video on her laptop. Zehra, who is still cleaning in her house, hearing Feriha's voice, enters the room and sees her daughter dancing like a drunk woman.

Zehra goes immediately at home, leaving the money for that working day at Hande's. She scolds Feriha then beats her, but stop beating her daughter because Mehmet comes home. Zehra also tells Riza what she saw on Hande's laptop, and they begin to wonder what is their daughter doing at the university? Feriha continues her life and her lies to Emir. Cansu has the chance to see them and tells her mother. Hande gives Koray some money to buy another CD when he realizes that somebody stole that precious CD form his house. Feriha and Emir start dating publicly and walk hand in hand, to be seen by their enemies. Hande goes mad when she sees them like that. Zehra witnesses an argument between Cansu and her mother Sanem on the piece of paper with Emir's name on it. later Zehra tires to calm Cansu down, but doesn't tell her that the note was left in her room by mistake. Mehmet finds working as an ocasional porter. He is very tired after the first day, but the next day he is not chosen to go to work so he leaves and starts looking for a permanent job at some car mechanics. One evening Mehmet defends Lara from two tramps, and then he shows her he was not armed, but he only pretended to be.

Hande follows Feriha after school and she discovers that Feriha is a waiter in Mrs. Sanem's restaurant. Then, Hande thinks of another game to play upon Feriha, and invites her friends at that restaurant on her birthday. That night Feriha is astonished seeing them at a table and can't utter a single word in front of them. In the meantime, Sanem and Haldun (Cansu's father) enter the restaurant and go to their table (they have an anniversary of their wedding). Riza has a job as a taxidriver but only during the night, job given by his neighbour, Veisel, who is a very materialistic person. Because he is old, some scoundrels try to profit and not to pay the taxi, so Riza gets stabbed and is taken to the hospital.

Feriha doesn't know what to say, is extremely embarassed and thinks that all her lies are going to be revealed. Emir, who remembers Sanem calling Feriha from the balcony, thinks she is her mother, and saves the situation by saying that Feriha works in her parents hotel and restaurant. Hande is amazed at how rich are Feriha's "parents". Eventually, Hande gets drunk and she is taken home by taxi. Riza is at the hospital but Feriha doesn't know it yet. Sanem tells Cansu that Emir Sarrafoglu greeted her and Haldun at the restaurant. Cansu overreacts and they argue because Cansu thinks there is a certain relationship between Sanem and Emir, but her step-mother didn't want to tell her.

Mehmet goes to the club owned by Unal Sarrafoglu to talk to him and ask him to give up to their payment for the damaged car because it is too expensive for them. He is not allowed inside and the bodyguards beat him. Emir arrives and tells him to talk with him, not with his father. Mehmet goes home upset. Riza is out of the hospital and Veisel, the taxi owner, is concerned about his financial loss instead og being sorry for his friend. Koray gives Hande a horse as a gift for her birthday. Zehra's sister finds a good job for her in the house of some rich poeple but one day the daughter of the houseowner can't find her diamond ring and suspects that Zehra must have stolen it. Gunce is pregnant with Koray and asks Feriha to help her, and to be a mediator between her and Koray but asks her to swear that she won't tell anybody about her pregnancy. Because now they have to talk alone, Hande believes that Feriha and Koray have a secret relationship and starts again to plan some of her games. Hande makes Emir understand that Feriha lies to him. Riza and Zehra have some guests: their neighbours come to discuss about the posibility that their son, Halil, could marry Feriha. Riza tells Zehra that he won't give their daughter to Halil, but since they have come as suitors, he can't behave rudely. After several minutes the police come to the door to arrest Zehra for the theft of the diamond ring.

Hande wants to persuade Emir that Feriha is involved in a relationship with Koray, but Emir is not sure, though he still wants to find out why Feriha lied to him (told him she is at the restaurant, working; in fact she was with Koray in a coffeeshop, and Emir with Hande were in the car in front of that coffeeshop). The next day, at the university, Hande tells Koray that she knows everything, but Koray thinks she is talking about Gunce. Therefore, he shouts at her to keep for herself what she had just found out. Zehra is taken to the police station where she cries because she knows nothing about that ring, but the investigators don't believe her. She is eventually left home and after a few days the policemen come to her house to search the ring. The neigbours start gossiping that she is a thief, the school children behave aggressively with little Omer and Halil's parents stay away from them considering it's not anymore the case to discuss about a marriage between their son and Feriha. This happening will have many negative consequences on Zehra because she won't find any job for some time. Emir and Feriha are heaving lunch together and Unal comes to speak with his son. Ignoring Feriha, he tells Emir that he is going to harass Mehmet's family because they pay the car damages too slow. Hearing this, Feriha leaves the restaurant without eating.

During the next days Emir has the occasion to hear Koray and Feriha talking, so he finds out that it is about a pregnant girl, but he doesn't know who is that girl. Later he hears them talking about Gunce, and he thinks he understood everything. Emir tries to discuss this topic with Koray, but because the latter promissed to Gunce not to reveal her secret, he doesn't want to give details to Emir, who now believes that Hande was right and Koray is in love with Feriha. Zehra is declared innocent, because the ring is found between the sofa's cushions. Mehmet is still looking for a job and one of his friends suggests to become a giggolo. He accepts, thinking that it's a well paid job, and buys expensive clothes for his first dating with money borrowed from his friend. He meets two rich and old ladies in a restaurant. Because he is naive and silent, he spoils everything. Though, he leaves home every night, telling his parents that he found a night-shift job, but in fact he sleeps in the park next to their block of houses. Gunce decides to abort the child because she can't raise it alone (she knows that Koray wouldn't marry her). Koray pays for the abortion at the hospital and brings Gunce at his house for one night, to recover. Feriha will be there too, and Koray decides to go somewhere else. Hande, who heard Koray talking on the phone with Feriha about her coming to his place, pays a photographer to secretly follow Koray. Feriha lies to Zehra that she must stay all night to her university friends to learn for a difficult exam, but Zehra sees her getting into Koray's car, without her schoolbag). When Feriha and Koray are in front of his house (she came to stay with Gunce, and he leaves home) for a short conversation, the photographer take some pictures of them exactly while Koray hugs Feriha.

Episode 10

Zehra often calls Feriha during that night but hearing Gunce's voice, she strats believing that her daughter didn't lie to her, after all. Hande goes to Emir to persuade him to come with her at Koray's house to reveal Feriha's treachery. They arrive at Koray's and see the lights are on. They ring the door bell, but the girls don't open the door, seeing on the viewfinder who has come to visit them. Feriha calls Koray - who is in the car on the seashore - to ask him to solve the problem, because Hande insists at the doorbell. Eventually, Hande and Emir go back home.

A few days later, because Feriha said she would like to fly, Emir takes her by helicopter to see Istanbul city from above. Cansu, seeing that Feriha is very well dressed when she is at the university, with expensive clothes that she, Cansu, gave her in the past, becomes irritated and says that Feriha lives her life and wears her clothes, she says that Feriha stole her life, because she (Cansu) had to be a student, not her. Veisel (who stole Riza's wallet, and now he can't pay his bank rate) advices Riza to take a bank loan and to set up a business with him as a partner. Veisel lies to Riza that he will pay his bank rates if he accepts to take this loan. He also lies to Riza, that he can't take a loan by himself because of the problems he had with that taxi, and this is why Riza must help him. Riza hesitates in the beginning, but finally he thinks Veisel is right and takes the loan. An article about Koray (who is the son of a famous politician) and Feriha spending one night together, with the pictures previously taken, appears in a glossy magazine. Hande makes sure that Emir sees the magazine. He is very angry, but doesn't say anything to Hande. He just go at the university and fights with Koray, who doens't understand what's the matter with Emir. Very soon everybody reads the article and learns about Feriha being a wanton. Emir is angry on her but she can't tell him the truth because she promised Gunce to keep her secret about the pregnancy. Feriha, thinking that Cansu is still a friend for her, complains about what happend to her, but Cansu asks Feriha if Koray is the man who kissed her some time ago in front of the block. Feriha's parents find out about the article because Cansu makes sure that Riza sees the magazine and reads it. Zehra loses confidence in her daughter, mainly when she hears Hande and her friends talking about Feriha being a cheap girl.

Koray asks his father to investigate who was paid for that article and by whom. Therefore, he finds out that Hande is the one, as he already suspected. Koray gets angry at Hande and doesn't want to speak to her again, or to Emir. Hande gets drunk that night and goes to Emir to talk to him and she remains there till morning. Mehmet doesn't want to be a giggolo anymore, so his friend asks for his money (for the clothes) back. In this situation, because he doesn't have any money, Mehmet accepts to go once again to meet some ladies, at Sanem's restaurant and hotel. Unfortunately, Feriha sees him there and can't believe her eyes that Mehmet is a giggolo. Later, coming home (he ran away from the lady's house, not being able to do his job), Mehmet sees the magazine and scolds his sister. In exchange, Feriha asks him about the giggolo job saying that she saw him at Sanem's restaurant.

In the morning, Gunce comes to Emir; Hande, seeing her on the window, gets dressed in one of Emir's shirts so that Gunce to believe they had a romantic night, and then to tell Feriha about it. Gunce came to tell Emir the truth about what happened with her, Koray and Feriha during the last days, that all was about her pregnancy and that Feriha and Koray are not lovers. Gunce appreciates Feriha for what she did, because she was the only person to help her. Zehra and Cansu have an argument and when Cansu's behaviour degenerates, Zehra decides to not be a maid in that house anymore. Haldun wants to pay her but she doesn't want to take the money and leaves. At home, Zehra tells her daughter how Cansu behaved and how she accused her (Feriha) for living at double standards (pretending she is rich at the university, and being humble at home). Then Feriha takes all the clothes given by Cansu and leaves them in front of Sanem's door. Lara, who is just coming from shopping, finds out what happened and takes Feriha's side, because she can't stand Cansu. As a consequence, Feriha is forced to wear cheap clothes for a while, but she is lucky because Lara and her mother, madame Tulin, suggest her to wear clothes from their fashion shop for publicity among the university students.

At first Riza considers Zehra guilty because she was too permissive with Feriha. When their daughter comes home, Riza beats her badly and keeps her locked in her room. Feriha tells Emir on the phone that everything must be over between them. Cansu finds out what happened and feels sorry, but it's too late now. Riza, still angry at his daughter, starts thinking to marry her against her will, as the best way to save her reputation, so he speaks with Halil's parents to come to them and ask Feriha to be his wife. Zehra, who married Riza forced by her parents, doesn't want Feriha to have the same fate, but for the moment she can't do anything but wait. Emir is confused because he doesn't understand what his fault is. He has the chance to speak with Feriha face to face once more, and she only tells him that everything is over and there is nothing else to be said. Emir meets Koray at the university and tells him about this unusual separation between him and Feriha. Hande is nearby and hearing this, she smiles very satisfied. Halil and his parents come to visit Riza and to ask for Feriha's hand. Cansu finds out about it and tries to contact Koray on facebook. Emir, being sad, gets drunk every night at his father's club and meets one-night-stand women. Every night he brings home another girl. Feriha must go to the university only with Halil and Mehmet, wearing the engagement ring. When Halil leaves, she hides the ring in a pocket. Riza is sorry for what he decided, but it's too late now and he must go forward with the engagement party. Koray gets back the CD with the compromising video in the club, makes some copies and gives one to Gunce suggesting her to watch the whole movie, to figure out why Hande was so concerned about it.

The episode ends when Halil, seeing that Feriha forgot her mobile phone in the car, comes inside the university yard to give it back, and notices that Feriha is talking to Emir about their relationship ...

Halil goes to Emir and acts aggressively towards him. When he gets home, starts asking Mehmet more about Feriha, but her brother can't tell Halil too many things, because Feriha was very secretive with her desires and life. In fact, Halil does not know anything about his future wife, but he fell in love with her beauty. On the other hand, Feriha warns her parents that she can't be married by force and she will not accept a man whom she doesn't know and doesn't want. Zehra and Riza talk together and decide that if they marry their daughter and she divorces Halil a little later could be worse for her future.

Cansu gets very angry at Sanem, Pelin (Sanem's daughter) and Haldun, her father. She overreacts to everything that it isn't as she would have liked it to be. Pelin blames Cansu for showing the magazine article to Riza and tells her she is a mean person. Finally , everything culminates with Cansu saying that Sanem hates her, and Cansu pulls off the table cloth, breaking all the plates and glasses that were on it. Sanem and Pelin decide to leave the house. Haldun tries to have a talk with Cansu and to make her understand that it was terrible what she did, and that he didn't believe Sanem when she told him Cansu behaved like that previously too. Later, advised by Haldun, Cansu says she is sorry for what she did, to Sanem and Pelin. Haldun asks Zehra to come and clean the living room and he goes to get his wife and Pelin back home. Zehra, seeing what a disaster is there, calls Feriha to help her. In the meantime, Emir comes to the block to speak to Feriha once more and he goes upstarirs at the third floor where he thought Feriha lives. He rings the doorbell and Zehra opens the door, astonished to see him there (because she doesn't understand why Emir would come to Cansu). Emir tells her he wants to speak to Feriha, if she is at home. Feriha comes at the door but is embarassed and doesn't know what to say and how to react. Emir asks her if her mother is at home.

Zehra realizes that Cansu was right and that her daughter lies at school about her true origins and family, being ashamed that she is not rich. She pretends she is just the maid and says she is going to finish cleaning and that Feriha's mother (meaning Sanem) will come back home soon. Feriha sends Emir away, without much talk. Emir leaves, but he is confused and sad. Zehra, extremely disappointed, goes in the park crying because her own daughter is ashamed with her parents. She promisses Feriha that she won't stay on her way but she also will never support her anymore. Zehra now feels that Feriha deserves to be married by force as Riza decided.

When a picture with Emir, drunken and sleeping in his car appears in a magazine (article ordered by Unal), Emir starts blaming his father for the divorce from his mother because of his endlessly love-affairs. Emir says that for a long time he had believed he was the reason for his partents divorce, until he realized that Unal was not faithful to his wife. Eventually, Emir leaves home and moves with Koray. One day Gunce arrives at Koray's and puts the CD in front of the entrance door. Emir finds it and plays it on pc learning that Hande gave drugs instead of headache pills to Feriha during that night in the club.

Sanem and Haldun persuade Cansu to say "I'm sorry" to Zehra so that she can become again their daily maid. The engagement day has come, but Feriha is the only one who can't be happy about the event.

Hande goes to meet koray but when he doesnt open the door she is shattered and cries her heart out at his doorstep. Next day she meets emir in college and pretends to cosy up to him when she spots gunche looking at them. Karma is a bitch almost instantly when emir calls feri his love😛

Emir spends two whole days avoiding feri n getting drunk. His father is surprised to see him drinking and gifts him a new car. Finally on the third day he musters enough courage to go and apologize to koray. He is feeling horribly guilty and doesn't know how to face n apologize to feri.

Cansu goes to meet her dad at his hotel where she is shocked to see feri working as a waitress. She accusses her of lying multiple times to her n hiding things from her, like working as a waiter, meeting emir at her parents anniversary dinner, having a bf, etc. Feri sits quitely and doesnt and listens to everything she says.

Mehmet tells his parents that he has left his job. Later on he also tells feri that he couldnt do it, and left the job. He asks her abt the magazine n her job. She tells him abt working as a waitress but refuses to say anything abt the magazine

The woman who had accused zehra of stealing comes to apologize. Her husband offers them money which they refuse

Precap: hande tells everyone in her grp about gunches pregnancy. Gunche refuses to be a part of her dirty plans. Koray meets feri and tells her emir is geuninely sorry and he will apologize soon. Jaan is at emirs college and is not able to find emir. He meets feri who later offers to drop him home since he is alone . cansu screams at zehra and says how dare a porters wife shout at her? Later feri meets her and says she never knew cansu had hidden so much bitterness against her in her heart
