Some facts about "Pyare Afzal"

* Written by famous Urdu fiction writer Khalilur Rehman Qamar

* Directed by Nadeem Baig Sahab, evergreen hero and the most popular star of Pakistani film industry

* Main role of Afzal Subhanallah was first offered to Fawad Afzal Khan but due to his busy schedule in India the role was played by Hamza Ali Abbasi

* Initially the show was divided in five seasons
First season till Afzal leaves Hyderabad
Second season till Babu Hameed gets killed
Third season till Afzal returns to Hyderabad
Fourth season till Afzal decides to go back to Karachi
Fifth season till the end
But later it was decided to make it a one run show so a large part of the script was discarded. Even then the show is much more lengthy than average Pakistani tv shows.

* Last episode of the show was not telecast. Instead it was shown in cinema halls across the country. First time in Pak tv history

This show was never offered to Fawad in fact it was written for Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan, Khalil Sahab was adamant that Humayun should do the role but Humayun wanted Hamza Ali Abbasi to do this role. Saba Hameed who plays Afzal's mother in this drama was then asked by Khalil sahab to make a fair decision and She chose Hamza. All this was revealed by Khalil sahab himself in an interview.

Khalil sahab wanted to cast Fawad in I am sorry Hassan or some of his other projects but those projects have still not gone on floor and wonder if they will ever.

Yeah Sadqay was a bit of a let down after Pyarey Afzal from Khalil ur Rehman. Im hearing he's redeeming himself in Mera Naam Yousuf..
