But yes, she does call him. 😭

It's just that their love was so innocent and unaware of all the hatred it was inviting. Never would they have imagined their own people will gang up against them! Two innocent people caught up in a cruel ploy of selfishness. Neither can be blamed. 😭

For Khirad her self respect was very important, she was cold with Ashar till he assured her that she isn't forced onto him and that he loves her. Only than did she let herself love him, and now when she loved him so much, he was her only relation in life and he didn't even trust her.
Trust is everything in a relationship, Khirad was also hurt by the way Ashar didn't even give her one chance to clarify herself

Between to people who have read the novel, can I ask you something? Was this misogynistic approach to the female protagonist was criticised as a literary matter? I mean the portrayal was based on it. But what about reaction to the written piece?

I mean throwing money on your daughter in law's face by saying that its the price for all the thong you did for the man all this while was beyond pathetic and misogynistic imo. Sorry no offence intended, but just asking a sincere question.

Payal it was actually toned down in the drama, in the novel this entire sequence as well as the apartment one as exaggerated to the extent. Fareeda says more when she throws the money on Khirad's face, I can't remember the exact dialogues because it was back in 2011. Truly did disgust me 🤢

Don't you guys think Khirad has a slightly upper hand here? She is all aware, known to the ploy that has been played against them. Knows how disgusting Farida is, how all their relatives have simply wronged them.

But Ashar? Poor soul has no idea that his own mother, his so called best friend and his aunt have snatched awat the biggest happiness of his life. It breaks me to think that he will spend his life (until the truth is revealed) believing in these people and hating Khirad. He still has no idea how ruthlessly he has been wronged.

She does have the upper hand, it sucks to be Asher more than Khirad, because despite everyone having wronged him, he's still at the same time responsible for isolating his wife and daughter from himself, he'll have tp be answerable for that in the future.

Is se bhi zyada tha? 🤢

Ok I have nothing more to say other than saying disgusting is an understatement for that sequence. I mean a woman writer writing this is more shocking. 😲

She was just emotionally driven at that point, but she does call him later so many times.. she expected Asher to trust her and take her side especially because she wasn't aware of how deep rooted his insecurities and jealousy was, he never shared it with her but instead he walked out on her and left her there.
I still consider both victims, and I pity Asher more because truly he lost out on the most.

Exactly. In spite of all the jealousy and insecurity he does come back to talk to her. Just too late. 😭

But he does, and that proves so much.

He won't pick up her calls, yes. He thinks she will ask for a divorce which he does not have the heart to give. He does blabber about how he hates Khirad and all, but no. He loves her way too much to ever hate her. That's how a hurt man is, covering up his hurt love/ego by strong and harsh words. But in actuality, he is too weak to hand out a divorce.
Also, a bit of the male ego. He cannot stand that his wife divorces him and weds another man. He wants Khirad to be HIS wife, with him or away from him. He cannot take her being the wife of any other man.

*Sigh* I feel so pathetic for both of them.

Fareeda a mother who broke her own son's home and heart

Zarina a mother who wants to build her daughter's happiness on another mother's daughter's pain

Yeah they are mothers 🤢🤢🤢

it's the mentality that runs in many mother-in-law's minds if I'm not mistaken, a lot of them are like this, treating their daughter-in-laws as objects for their son to play with.

Btw in ZGH Zaroon slapped Kashaf twice, also burned her Saari when she didn't wear the colour he wanted her to wear.
They took out a lot of stuff from both ZGH and Humsafar
