The episode begins with him rushing to his office to tear up the file she had presented to him earlier that week. Again he cannot get past the photograph of his daughter and we see him making a life changing decision. In that one emotional moment he accepts completely that Hareem is his daughter and his responsibility, immediately calling Raza and asking for the best pediatric cardiologist in town. We are sometimes so busy discussing Fawad Khan's star power that we forget his popularity is firmly based on his talent as an actor. This scene was one of the most moving in a serial full of excellence. Despite the screechy Violin playing in the background, here was a moment so poignant no one could be failed to be moved to tears.
Again this is matched by Mahirah as she returns to the scene of her misery and disgrace .Those unforgettable scenes of her entry into a place she probably never thought to see again. Farida's echoing taunts , Khirad's painful memories and Asher's complete ignorance are beautifully juxtaposed by the director. Even to the most casual observer, Asher and Khirad's attraction and yes, deep attachment to each other is obvious despite the various tricks and games they use to suppress and hide it.Khirad has built a wall of ice around her heart to protect herself and Asher hides his hurt behind anger and contempt. The first time I watched this it made me angry but this time I smiled through Asher's almost juvenile attempts at putting his errant wife in her place. The way he ignores Khirad, concentrating solely on Hareem is all meant to not only punish his wife but perhaps a latent wish to get a reaction from her. It is as if Khirad has frozen her heart and decided never to react and most importantly never to explain or ask for understanding. The only time she reacts is at Asher's mother's name something he notices but cannot comprehend.
There is such fabulous screen chemistry between Fawad and Mahirah: we can see Asher and Khirad subconsciously slip slowly back into their old roles both determined not to spoil anything for their innocent daughter. I had to smile at Asher's over protective attitude towards Hareem, telling Khirad off for "upsetting" his daughter. Poor Khirad is so grateful for his support that she refuses to take the bait and will not react to Asher's taunts. I found the whole father daughter dynamic between Asher and Hareem incredibly sweet and true to life. It makes a pleasant change to the constant drone of "daughters are a burden" in most dramas. That whole thing with the medicine and Asher's angry banging on the door, : fathers are extra protective and extra sensitive where their daughters are concerned.

The episode starts in a grand way, grand and heart breaking reaction from Asher after the belief of his own daughter's existence had sunk in him, it broke him into an ocean of emotions, anger, guilt, grief, and yeah the fear of her being ill. The way he was tearing off those reports of Hareem, i would not be lying if i say i kind of got goosebumps during my first watch, that depicted his anger as the lost father who did not know why was he so late of an entrant in his daughter's life, why has he not allowed himself to discover this truth, why did he allow his daughter to suffer at his presence and lastly why could not he experience the joy and happiness of having this beautiful and god's blessing to him. Such a fabulous act by Fawad, words fall short here and many of the members have complemented him, and i will still say, this is just one of his outstanding protarayals of an emotional scene in this show, there are some more gorgeous one sto come.
I loved how he did not wait, he immediately contacts for a cardiologist, goes to hareem, meets her, commands khirad that he will take away HIS daughter but cannot separate HIS daughter's first love that is HIS daughter's mother and so yeah i know you are bound to come. This eventhough looked more like Asher in the veil of his love for Hareem, in his subconscious level wanted Khirad with him also, he knows just how Hareem is incomplete without Khirad, somewhat he was also incomplete, but obviously the self respect and ego comes in between and esp more when he faces the wrath of the fiercy khirad who actually gives him and earful.
The way khirad's re-entry in Asher's house was juxtaposed with Hareemand Asher's entry, it was fabulously done. neither khirad and nor Asher caring who is doing what, Asher in the course of showing Hareem HER OWN house had dagger eyes at Khirad movements, atleast i believe in that, and moreover its an aftermath of her damn care attitude that he goes to her and tells her that he is in for a compromise. Wow Asher, desperate measures to seek attention from the lady, ahh why do u care so much when she doesnt ? and thats what is the damn question which bugs him.
The standout scene, yes infact two standout scenes. The lonely Asher in his office, remembering Hareem's words and smiling.. aww that adorable smile, this single smile had so much impact that it can make anybody emotional, ohh the man was smiling in an empty room, after 5 years, that too with so much satisfaction on his face. And i just loved how fareeda exactly calls him at that time, and the way she catches his happy voice and in return he says " yeah who can challenge a mother, if u are feeling it then that means i am happy '' .. See she was still his mother, and how proud he felt that his mother felt his happiness, that gave him hope of the fact that once fareeda sees hareem, she will also go beserk just how he had gone.
The other stand out scene was the kitchen scene when Hareem says that she dislikes sugar with milk, and Asher goes for a pause, a lil smile and telling Hareem that he got reminder of another lil kid like her.. And it was his own childhood, the feeling reinforced in him that yes Hareem is his own, and just like him she dislikes sugar too, the way Fawad portrayed this, sheer brilliance onscreen, i donno what to say .
some important observations here, when hareem panicks that Asher left her again and then after her convo with Asher, Asher tells khirad that i feel like a culprit in front of my daughter because of you. That moment was more like a desperate and helpless father and husband sharing his grief with the only lady of his life, yeah he was blaming her, but he was still sharing the pain of being the culprit of his daughter, the feeling and thought was eating him up that how Hareem does not trust him, and he could not stay calm and composed with that piece of thought, he did not know how to bring a peace to all that, and then dhoom letting khirad know that yeah he feels guilty, so what if he is blaming her, he is accepting he is a culprit and if that could make his restlessness a bit lesser. And after this i realized, Khirad is the biggets healer of his wounds, be it his anger, guilt, passion, grief, he ends up interconnecting all his emotions with her, no matter if he wants to blame her, no matter if he wants to get rid of all the baggage of emotions, he finds nobody but her, she brings solace to his battered soul, his bruised mind, and he will realise it soon.
Lastly, Sara oh Sara, you are one comic relief of this entire depressive drama. I laughed so hard when she asked zareena not to behave like a middle class mother. Another noticeable point was how she tells zareena that random men like tauseef with money and all keeps proposing her and thus she does not give a damn, this ensures that sara infact is very wanted by men in her locality, desirable amongst boys there, and the fact that Asher probably is the only man who has shown her a different level of love/friendship makes her so addictive to the kind of love he can give, because she just wants an imitation of Asher's life , because she is alone, he is also alone, for her this much is enough that he has not given anybody a place in his life after rejection just the way she did not. Sara possible is one of those rare psychotic cases whose biggest drawback was that she is rich and spoilt, has always got whatever she wanted or deserved, she was thrown into an ocean of purity and selflessness when she found Asher in her childhood, and he made her believe that something like him exists who is very different from the random boys, any of her friends, any of her cousins, who could listen to her rants for 10000 hourse and still rub off her tears, thus sara lost it as soon as he surrendered himself to a middle class, less educated, less established girl than her.
