Khoobsurat star couple Sonam Kapoor and |Fawad Khan have been kept busy in recent |weeks promoting their movie - which opened at Suncoast Cinema on Friday. In this exclusive interview OneIndia.in's Priyanka Prasad got to |chat with the actors...Sonam Kapoor
Commenting generally on the movie... There are very few films these days which a 6-year-old and a 60-year-old can watch together. This is a sweet love story which will be loved by all.
One quality of Fawad Khan that you like?
He is really respectful towards people and that's a rare quality these days. People can be quite harsh and they are not nice to other people anymore. People seem nice but they are not and this is everywhere you know? From a corporate environment to media and movies... Fawad is just not like that, he can never be harsh to someone or say something to insult people.
How close are you to your on-screen character in Khoobsurat?
I am the royal misfit in the film, I am an extremely inappropriate person who wears weird clothes and behaves weirdly in the movie. I think very close, in a lot of ways we are similar. Like, I do believe in myself and I believe if someone loves you then they should love you for who are and should not try to change you. I believe there has to be a certain self-confidence in a person and a lot of values that Milli endorses in the film are the values I endorse as well.

Who is your inspiration or role model in acting?
Marlon Brando and so many actors from India. The actors whose work I really admire are Irrfan Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui... That pretty much conveys my preferences in movies, but having said that, I like what Ranbir Kapoor has been doing as well.
Is there any other actress apart from Sonam Kapoor who you'd like work with?
Everyone is great, from Kareena Kapoor to Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt, the list keeps going on and on. Everyone has been giving such amazing performances but if there is one actress who has left me spellbound with her work, it's Manisha Koirala. I have really enjoyed her performances.
What do you think you most need to work on as an actor?
Well, dancing is one of the major minus points for me. My memory is another one; my visual memory is not that good. Whatever I read, I remember for only a very short time.
What would you consider Sonam Kapoor's best attributes?
She speaks her heart, and that is any person's plus point. That's what I look forward to in people I meet, that they should be honest and nice. Sonam is exactly that, she is very honest. - oneindia.in

Pakistan's favourite male face, on and off screen, Fawad Khan appearing in his Bollywood debut film "Khoobsurat" next to Sonam Kapoor is being released worldwide tomorrow (Friday) and is noticeably one of the most awaited films in the history of Pakistani cinema.
Pakistani actors have since long been offered spots in the Indian cinema, but the entire affair has always reeked of certain conspiracies and distaste by the Pakistani audience. However, Fawad Khan considerably the most sought after actor in Pakistan, known for his talent, class and charming personality describes his experience and the aura of the movie, as nothing less than a family one. The film is a remake of the 80s film of the same name, now being produced by Anil Kapoor Film Company in collaboration with Walt Disney, is the first Indian Disney film, bringing the film to an international platform. A classic fairy tale story, rich in culture and a humorous anecdote is being anxiously awaited by both the Indian and Pakistani audiences.
Fawad Khan described his experience working in India as warm and friendly and expressed his feelings regarding working with the popular, feminine and chic Indian celebrity actress Sonam Kapoor, "It was an absolute pleasure working with the team. Sonam has been exceptionally sweet and accommodating and both Sonam and Rhea Kapoor made me feel very welcome. We have been getting along like a family."
The few teasers and songs released, has created a buzz on social media, with people anxiouslywaiting for the release of the film, which is due to be out today. Fawad Khans recognition which was initiated due to his remarkable performances in Pakistani plays such as "Humsafar" and "Zindagi Gulzar Hai" has made him a personal favorite of the Indian audience as well, making both countries simultaneously excited for the premiere of the film.
Fawad is already considered a celebrity in India, as he is materializing in various shows for the promotion of his movie like KBC, Entertainment Ke Lye Kuch Bhi Karay Ga, Comedy Nights with Kapil, Jhalak Dikhlaja and various other famous programs. Also seen in pictures with Big B, Farah Khan, Anu Malik and now another Big Khan, Aamir Khan has gone to meet him adding more fame to his career and making sure that now he would be returning to Pakistan, as the King Khan.
Sonam and Fawad's planned trip to Wagah Border yesterday represented a symbolic gesture in the promotion of the movie, of the way the border serves as a bridge between Pakistan and India.
All eyes are on Fawad to see if he performs just as well in his Bollywood debut as he has in his preceding Pakistani projects. We hope the film paves the way for more collaborative ventures between the two countries

Khoobsurat opened to poor response on Friday but thanks to positive response from audience the film picked up strongly in weekend. The collections jumped by 40% on Saturday and saw another big jump on Sunday.
The film has collected 11 crore approx in weekend which is still below the mark but as the trend is good it can achieve a decent first week with steady run in weekdays. Daily Breakdown is here:

As we all know that last Friday we have seen two different kinds of movies were released across the world namely Daawat-E-Ishq' and ,Khoobsurat'.The most common thing about the both movies is that these are running at average pace and by this moderate speed, these would find itself in safe zone especially, Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan starrer Khoobsurat' which is the remake of Hrishikesh Mukherji,s movie with the same title.
It has got poor stars at domestic box office but overlapped the business of co-release Daawat-E-Ishq' in overseas market, and now it is having a decent score of Rs.11.54 crores in first weekend, which is termed as justified collection for a movie that has not any big star face value except Sonam Kapoor who went for extensive promotions before and after the release.
It is produced by UTV's Siddharth Roy Kapoor along with Rhea Kapoor and Anil Kapoor, the movie needs to make decent money, mainly for Sonam who's last movie "Bewakoofiyaan" did not fare well at the box office.
Its music has been composed by Sneha Khanwalkar which given a live music and that helped it in a positive way as people have liked the songs like Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai' and Engine Ki Seeti' which warmly represent folk music, so all these pivotal points along with massive promotion that was being done by Sonam Kapoor, who is found to be the sole name for gaining public into the cinema houses.
It has grabbed a static figure of Rs.2.75 crores in first day which soared marginally on second day with Rs.3.74 crores, but Sunday came up with huge figure of Rs.5.05 crores, where it matched up with the performance of other movie.
