our shows are not going anywhere. no change in content . they are far too successful to change. I remember yash raj studios ran brilliant TV shows - mahiway, rishta.com, powder, khote sikkay. but sadly they stopped producing them bec the usual sells so well.

do any of our heroines do anything in life except cry. even that IPS bahu show - all she is always worried abt is how her mil will react, think, feel. IPS sirf naam ki. I watch a lot of international shows but woh apne wali feel nahin aati. you want stories abt your ppl in your country in your culture in your language. I miss that.

While I agree the content on Indian shows wont change I do believe producers like Ekta would be looking for the next big thing. Like in 2000 it was the saas bahu shows, in 2008 it was the rural based shows and 2010 onwards more realistic love stories with late consummations and a khichdi of everything(PR, BALH, JA, DABH and the likes). So now they would be looking for something that would become the next trend setter. While the trend setter would start as a hatke show...after a year or so of telecast it would be back to square one.

Gul and Ekta are two people I dont want anywhere near Fawad. Not their shows, please.

Although I agree,Ekta's films are much better than her shows.

Thanks for sharing this article!

I really don't want any Indian creatives to remake any of these Zindagi shows. They have bad reputation of ruining the content by converting it to a never ending saga. Best example is the remake of Dhoop-Kinare.

And as long as Indian creatives don't realise that content also has a shelf-life, television medium cannot undergo change. This is the reason why movies make for all-time favorite category but not TV shows.
