rubbish article...
not everyone watch shows for glamour n all..there r ppl who do but not everyone...beside a character shud be presented the way it shud be and not clad in heavy jewelry n make up unnecessarily...
regarding gender inequality,21st century or not,it exists pretty much in India too
atleast they dont present a middle class family living in huge houses and always wearing gold jewelleries with heavy make up...ita a bit more close to reality

Let me declare!!
I am an Indian here, a true patriot (yes, I am preparing to join defence forces) and like whatever I should about India.
But I am still scratching my head on what the writer was thinking before writing all this stuff.
I will agree to some extent on the chauvinism part, but then the circumstances over there are not feasible enough for ladies to party till late there. Giving out a message of being too much open minded would neither be practical nor would sound good in Pakistani scenario!
But what's with this obsession with glamour? Camouflaging bad acting, stoned expressions and stupid dialogues with backless blouses and loud make-up?
And lack of emphatic dialogues and natural drama is made up for with thay-thay-thay??
God! I so much miss the era when good actors (from theatre and movies) took pride in being part of well-scripted Indian TV shows.
I hold a lot of respect for KGBH for portraying such sensitive issues and tagging them as depressing is an insult to such a good piece of creation!!
And I can bet that any kind of "steamy" stuff with all that forced rain dance and Bollywood songs playing in bg, can't beat the subtle romantic scenes. They look far more natural than the OTT stuff shown in Indian shows these days!!

Oh god!!
Bold is what I really have begun hating Indian shows for!!
A whole episode dedicated to it as if I am watching an extended parody of Jaane Do Na from Sagar or Kaate Nahi Kat te Din Ye Raat from Mr. India!!
Two shows I watched till now ZGH and Aunn Zara, where the leads took time to open up to each other, but no such hype about the consummation! Applauses to the elegant handling!

I agree with the 60% of this article. I also had a issue with gender inequality while watching zindagi gulzar hai. It's man's world kind of zaroon's thinking was beyond my tolerance. And they are showing issues with clothes for e.g I saw a episode of Kitni girah baaki hai where a maid was wearing a saree and her malkin told her these words 'Ye khula dhaka zism liye ghumti hai'. Being an indian it was intolerable for me as saree is a traditional outfit here. And suddenly the first thing which came in my mind was -'Is it the reason why zaroon's mother used to wear saree'. Is there any connection of saree with their views about liberal women ?
And yeah no doubt most of the stories of kitni girah baaki hai are very depressing..all stories are not giving a social message. So it's like a bunch of sad stories.
And about Aunn Zara show..it's ending was like 'Hurry up we have to end this story today'. It was not a proper ending. Aunn's wink in the end clearly shows that he is not guilty and finally he escaped. And the last scene was not romantic at all. He was looking like a despo husband who can only thinks about one thing..calling his own baby a'Kabab mein haddi' proved that.

But i don't agree with the writer on some points like..
Glamour:- We need good stories not heavy make-up on the name of glamour.
But can we fully blame this writer ??
We are saying we want good stories not glamour but how many of us are watching Doordarshan's Shows ? Which are less of glamour. May be we can find good stories there may be not but how many of us have tried to watch it's shows ?
Aren't we hypocrites ?

I also don't agree with the writer on the point of 'Steamy Scenes.
For me if indian shows have so many flaws then pakistani shows too have flaws.
I read the description of Show 'Maat' on wikipedia and i found it similar to indian shows and the show 'Mere qatil Mere Dildaar' is no lesser than indian shows.. two marriages and talaak of male lead. Two marriages of female lead..second one for revenge with a already married guy and brother of male lead.
So if we want to see these shows of multiple marriages then what's the need of pak shows ? We have enough of these type of shows in our country.

Just had started one show and as the lead got married or going to , there were more than 100 posts on only this topic and some even crossed the limit of decency . Left the show as got disgusted , nothing about the story , every post was , where his hand was and all kind of crap . should say trash . So i think high time people should stop praising every nonsense in the name of creativity . Creativity has taken back seat and because of this TRP , viewers have started directing the show from Twitter , FB and all . what heroine should wear , wants shower scene and white satin sheets. , While writing this i feel disgusted ,.Did not wanted to write but could not control . Even in very rich , influential family woman are not bedecked with heavy jewelry and sarees and then go to sleep totally with made up faces . Hindi TV world needs a jolt .
I have posted a post when Zindgi channel was just started , it brought back the early days of strong content based shows ,and as some one mentioned with theater personalities . Why do not Zee and other older channels go to their Archive and show indian viewers the brilliantly made shows which still in todays time will be more progressive . No saas bahu saga with over crowded family , negative characters . ZGH has really changed the perspective of Indian viewers where they completed the show in 26 episodes , not leaving any loopholes and if Was produced in Hindi TV then it will definitely take more than 5 years and also the glycerine factory .

Fw questions I wana ask...
We need glamor or story?

We need realiistic plots or unwanted dragged n boring sequences?

We want real characters of life or main lead wid heavy jewellery n devilish make up?

M an indian..n really gt frustrated wid idiotic nvr ending series. .n laughing crazily on main leads hu wore jewellery evn wen thy r slping ..

Aur story k naam pe ...ZERO...

it really doesnt matter..wthr its a pakistan series or indian. .we need story. .a real story. ..

I thoroughly enjyed zgh..aunn zara..bcz of their real situations..their pov towards each othr...

no , its not like that at all .saree is not considered a bad dress code in pakistan...( but yea if they show in that way so maids in pakistan don't wear sarees at all ..they wear shalwar qameez ) women in pakistan love to wear sares but here the elder women think that saree is more like a party dress and one should wear it only after marriage 😛 i don't know the mantaq behind it ... becuase i love sareee and planing to wear one on my annual dinner 😃 khair baki ur point abt gender inequality ... the one clip they showed when zaroon comments on asmara 's clothes .. so i wana tell u in pakistan showbiz personlities and model wear short clothes ..Not every one ... but some of them .. but whole population here is like we don't accpet wearing short skirts or miny tiny dresses ... i don't find it conservative becuase its something our religion nd our values tell us ... but i don't mind wearing tights or jeans as far as it looks decent .(not vulgar) halan k asmara's clothes were not short .. they were right but zaroon character demand was like to act that way ... is tarah say to kashaf b kafi dafa zaroon k saath misbehave kr k inequality krti ha ... so don't take it that way ... Zaroon has been shown bit immature at that time when he himslf was a flirt but he didn't like asmara's clothes ... baki i was fine with his concerns abt his mother and sister ... According to pakistani veiwer i found that its the reality men's brain mostly work like this ... So i was okay with it .. becuase when the drama ended it also showed that zaroon was the best father for his girls and most understanding husband to kashaf ,,,

About Maat and Meray Qatil meray dildar i would suggest u to not read but to watch ... Becuase i do agreee the same stories bieng made in india too ... But u cannot ignore saas bahu and 2nd marriages and talak stories becasue these things happen ... Pakistani drama can show u the same story with diff perspective ... its obvious so many dramas are being fromed till now in india and Pakistan , Not all dramas get hit .. few of them get hit .. Stories gets repeated .. But success will b for those who present it well ... So i will say that don't Jump to conclusion before watching . You can find the story same but u will find the different direction , dialogues and acting without unnecessary intimacy , oveloaded makeup Etc ..😊
Maat and meray qatil meray dildar were one of the high rated dramas .. they are not bad !
