NOTE FOR CHAPTER 26:
Hope you like it!
A few points:
1. The way trainers train the cadets might be a little different from normal programs and the main reason is that these people aren't training soldiers, they are training civilians.
So, they don't care about things like order or the way of things, they care about the result in the program. Their aim is to be effective and finish terrorist organizations.
If that means tolerating slight things that military academies might not, then so be it. That doesn't mean they would let the cadets run rampant, mind you, but say, tweaking rules or changing curriculum etc.
2. I really wanted to explore Faizi's commitment phobia. There was of course, the classic "I am scared of being abandoned" and it would have fit, snug as a bug, but I wanted it to be slightly different.
For me, Faizi is someone who loves to keep people close to him and the people he loves, he gives his whole soul and heart to. Case in point- Karan. He's very close to Karan and if Karan suddenly stops paying attention to him or stop considering his feelings, it'd hurt him very, very deeply, perhaps a blow he would never ever forget.
The difference between committing and having a friendship is that while Faizi is scared that he'll suddenly be insignificant in their life, his friendship with Karan wasn't something that he committed to consciously. It just developed over time.
He isn't that scared of people leaving him (Case in point, his acceptance of his Dad leaving), he's scared of becoming irrelevant for people who matter to him (Case in point, his anger and bitterness over his Dad in present day)
3. By the "rule book", it actually means the description of how the academy works. So, it's a really thick book with LOTS of rules. It doesn't just contain 'what to do' and 'what not to do', it's a full blown mini constitution within the academy that talks about rules, working, punishments, exceptions, hierarchy, permissions, line of command etc. It's well defined and very detailed and takes quite some time to understand and fully be aware of. Some SAs would still miss out on some of the uncommon ones.
4. While everyone was amused at Abhi's obsession with Karan and kinda offended and angry at his interest in Monami, the difference in reactions isn't because of gender. It's simply because if Abhi crosses the invisible line Karan has, Karan wouldn't hesitate to shut him up. Monami, on the other hand, would probably panic and retreat in her shell. If it had been Sanju instead of Monami, they'd probably not be as concerned and let her deal with it unless she asked for help or reported a serious issue since Abhi's staring, while creepy, seems harmless.
I think that's all for now. Waise, toh tum sab log bahut intelligent ho, toh samajh hi aa gaya hoga yeh sab par I have a habit of overexplaining things and going on rants, toh... yeah.
Haan, I know, main bahut bolti hoon, kisi doosre ko chance nahi milta, par ab main chup hoon, ab tum log kuchh bol lo. *Eyes silent readers* Haan, tum logon se hi baat kar rahi hoon.
Kuchh aur random logon ko tag kar hi deti hoon ab. *shrugs* Jisko nahi tags chahiye, feel free to tell me so.
