Thank you, my dear (what, precisely? ), and another great one from you as well. I am getting addicted to your comments as well as to Yudh!

The 4th episode, about which I shall post tomorrow, was a humdinger, a full on murder mystery with Yudh, unwittingly, cast as the deus ex machina of the killing, though not the perpetrator. And I am afraid that, as happens all the time with me, you are far out re: Nikhil and Mamta. It is closer to my take, though not quite.

Amitabh was fabulous last night, at his old explosive best. And everyone else as well. There so many unexpected little vignettes - Anand's autistic son, Mona's sister, whose husband has vanished a year ago- which have nothing immediately to do with the main narrative, but who knows?

Do see my responses to AreYaar and to Rashmi above; they will interest you.

Only 4 weeks and 16 episodes more; and then I shall surely have withdrawal sympto😉ms!

Aunty, another great one from you 👏

The one thing I liked the most from yesterday was the pace of story telling. It has, as I imagined and hoped it would, picked up speed and is sure to pick up more as the story progresses. This is good because of the fact that while the first two episodes were filled with intricate and complex situations and characters, it still was a little slow. But I liked the third episode better😃

The characters are slowly setting into their groove. Yudh's need to clear Shanti constructions name is being all imperative to him and I loved Anand telling him that when they had waited so many years to build the reputation, they should have patience to wait a few more hours to clear the dirt thrown at their faces👏 Great dialogues⭐️

The dirt is gonna get dirtier still with the investigation throwing up Yudh directly into the mess. How will he react to this is yet to be seen. It is also great to see Anand and Yudh work as a team with such mutual respect and care. Especially Anand comes across as someone who is loyal to the core, that brand of loyalty one saw in days of past when the trust and faith was complete in one's employer. I am waiting to see more unfold in this relationship.

Poor Rishi is a kid with a big heart and no mind for business. I can see him as the 'modern' day youth, who tweets and finds himself/herself handicapped in the absence of a cell phone tower😆, somebody who jokes about important issues like the naxal problem but yet is perspective which surprises the onlooker. Rishi's character will be proved when he faces a real challenge, which I think may be when he gets kidnapped. But that is for another day to discuss.

Nayanthara's health issues seem to have started up from something though I think I missed what but she has a good relationship with her husband. The usual banter when he came home was kinda soothing to see in the otherwise gripping episode.

What a chalak her brother turned out to be😲😕. The man begging her just the day before now wants to extract revenge. His own justification of why he wants revenge is as twisted as his outlook. Rishi seems to be in danger doubly over.

Malik, his wife and Nikhil's tale is still grey. I do not think Nikhil is trying to frame Malik because of his love for Mamta, though he surely cares for her. I have a feeling his motivations are elsewhere and Mamta is only a means to an end. Where this tale will go, one cannot predict but I think this is just more than the usual suspects😉

Ahaaa... that would be spoken too early...
A serial needs to settle down... for it to get the A vs B wars.. (I've been around in IF for long enough to know that 😉) Yudh will be gone too quickly before any such thing can take place here...

No, no, my dear, that was the same thug who shouts at Anuj over the phone when he is having tea with his father and the Municipal Commissioner and threatens him that if the faces of his 3 men on the CD leads the trail back to him main tumhde zinda gaad doonga!. Take a look at that scene again. In the one to which my question relates, the thug is wearing exactly the same outfit as during the telephone conversation with Anuj.

It is only he and his boys who are at risk because of the CD. The police inspector must have been bribed to let them out for the night, and now to save his own skin, and probably at the urging of Anuj, he kills them all in a fake encounter. Hmm dunno...but the police inspector and this guy looked similar to me...probably cuz of the moustache...very similar features...but I guess they were different people...regardless, to get back to your original question...it seems the guy changed his mind about killing Nikhil after seeing him talking to someone.

This is precisely why every episode of Yudh needs to be watched at least twice.

I feel the same as you about Rishi, and have written as much in this post, in the section An innocent abroad. He is not exactly like either his hard driving, dominating father, or his nagging mother; he is something different. There is a quirky, dreamy quality to him. Let us see.

As for Gautam, he is surely Yudh's mentor, and his senior associate in the old days. Not his father in law, as I myself thought after episode 1, for he is down in Yudh's mobile phone as Gautam Sir. I noted that when Yudh gets the message "Congrats, Yudh" just before the winner of the mining deal is announced.. That Congrats, Yudh message was from Gautam? I thought it was from some unknown number, that is why Yudh looked so spooked when he got it...why would he look around frantically if he knew the message was from Gautam?😕 And he never even questioned Gautam about it when he called him later...

I also found out from the summary of Yudh on the Sony website that Gauri is his first wife, who is alienated by his workaholism and his incessant drive. So they have an amicable divorce, and their daughter Taruni stays with her mother, who later marries that Jeet from the Vigilance Department. Nayantara is the woman he marries later for professional reasons, as her father is a powerful politico from a princely family , who however comes a cropper later, as his daughter recounted in Episode 1, because he cannot adjust to the new democratic set up. Yes I too read that summary about Gauri-Yudh's connection...lol Jeet is in the Vigilance department...well that doesn't bode well for Yudh...especially if Jeet gets jealous over Taruni's affection for her birth father and decides to exact revenge.

So he married Nayan for her father's connections/money...makes sense...clearly all his emotional attachment is to his first wife and first daughter.

Thank you Aunty😳 That was really kind of you.

I am yet to see the next episode and postponed watching it till the weekend. Need some peace and quiet to watch the episodes without interruptions😆

I make sure that I read your replies on all posts😊 There is always another gem of an analysis in them and I don't like to miss any if I am given the chance.

About Nayanthara, I think she probably was and is the most practical one from her father's side. Her brother seriously is a blackguard and he father, in her own words would not adapt to the changes in society but Nayanthara is grounded in many ways that is surprising.

She pushes her son to become 'serious' and follow his father's footsteps and while we can see that he is closest to her, she still does not ask him what he wants. Typical huh?

She has this underlying fear that her son would either become her father or her brother... Look at how she sprang to draw the line to her brother and keeps telling her father's tale. "Don't be your mama or your grandfather" seems to be her motto.. But I understand her concern. She is hoping that the apple has not fallen far from the tree but is afraid that it may be closer to the next tree than the one it originated from.

I still wonder if Nayanthara knows about Taruni and Yudh's relationship with his daughter. While that part is yet to be explored, is Nayanthara worried about succession?

... and before I totally forget, I am Harini 😃 Sorry. I thought I had mentioned that before. I forget that my username in IF was created when I was feeling just like that😉

Aunty, I fully intend on catching up with Yudh this weekend; after quitting Jodha Akbar, Yudh was the only reason I didn't delete my account on I-F.
It's just that there's this stupid thing called an internship that takes all day and after that, I'm too groggy to focus on anything. 😆
But now it's the weekend, so I will watch all four episodes that aired this week. I really missed reading your episode analyses and I am sorry I pulled a vanishing act!
