Leap is definite and most probably not too far in the future.

Question is - if there are going to be multiple leaps 5-6 years first and then another 5-6 to come to the present time or a straight one leap of 12 years.

If there are multiple leaps, 14-year old playing a 9 year old makes sense. otherwise not!!

I don't know how they are plannign on the leap. but seeing the year as 2003 I'm guessing there's one leap very soon...maybe 5-6 yrs as you said...then after a while there might be another leap to present. Let's wait and watch

Survi and kartick would be running away from goons. Maybe that is why a 15 years old girl more appropriate. A real 9 years old girl might easily get hurt during scenes.

May be. There doesn't seem to be much logic in this casting decision since there are plenty of age appropriate child actors around and many of these are already doing action/running scenes.

On the other hand, they could have easily said Survi is 13 or 14 year old. I am not sure that would have made any difference to the story line.
