I love it!! Nishant is 💗!! I am loving the idea of Kuhu moving on and I like how Kunal's EQ is low in this story as it is in the show. He is thinking if it was okay for Kuhu to react that way🤯.

The New Normal

Abir paced back and forth in the dining area, while looking at the clock every other minute, then at the door. Mishti watched him, as she sat on one of the dining chairs. “Relax Abir, I am sure he will be home soon”. “Relax? Relax Mishti really, my brother has been feeling miserable for the past month and you want me to relax. He has been spending most of his awake hours in the office, I have barely seen him in the past 3 days, let alone have a conversation with him”. Abir exasperated. Mishti stood up and placed her hand on Abir’s shoulder, Abir pulled her into a hug.

“I know Abir, I know and I really wish there was something I could do to help. I had really thought that I would be able to get through to Varsha Aunty and learn where Kuhu is, but she has been adamant about not giving up her location. Even Nishant does not know where Kuhu is, all he knows is that she is safe” Mishti mumbled in his chest. Abir held her.

“Why is Kuhu being like this, why is Varsha aunty being like this, how do I convince them, that Kunal has been not himself since bro has left this house, hec none of us have been the same. He won’t even tell me what happened between them, that made Kuhu leave”. Abir felt tired, worried about his Nanko who had become more reserved than normal.

Just then the front door opened, and Kunal entered. He was carrying his coat in his arms; he hadn’t shaved in a past few days, his shoulders slumped, his eyes looked like he hadn’t slept in days, which was the case, he just looked extremely tired. Kunal wouldn’t even have noticed Abir and Mishti in the kitchen, had Mishti not spoken up and asked him to have dinner. Kunal as usual declined, saying he was too tired and wanted to rest in his room

Meenu came out of her room and stopped Kunal. “Kunal, you should eat dinner, I have cooked your favorite food”. Kunal gave Meenu a small smile. “Na Maa I had a late lunch and am not really hungry”. Saying that he went up to his bedroom. Meenu looked at Abir and Mishti, as if conveying her concer for Kunal, she called Abir in her room for a discussion.

“We need to do something about Kunal!” Meenu said blatantly. “I know Maa, I have been trying to talk to him, but with no luck he leaves for office super early doesn’t come home until late. Kuhu’s absence has really gotten to him” Abir expressed his concern. “I knew it, this is why I did not want either of the Maheswari daughters being part of this family, I knew they weren’t the right choice for my sons” Meenu said. “Maa please, does this look like a time to start on that, do you not see the state Nanko is in?”. Abir snaps at his mom a bit. “Okay, fine I have a plan to help Kunal feel better” Meenu goes into details about what she is thinking, Abir opposes her plan, telling her this will only further upset Kunal. But Meenu is adamant, Abir frustrated with his mom leaves the room in anger.

~Kunal enters is his room and takes a deep breath. He looks at his wedding picture on the table and feels a little comforted just seeing Kuhu’s face, but he also feels the pain of her absence. He has been working for the past month trying to fill the void Kuhu left, to not be surrounded by her memories, but being at home drowns him in her memories. Therefore, he has been spending so much time in the office, at least his brain is kept occupied with meetings, spreadsheets and other work, but the minute things slow down, he finds himself thinking about Kuhu, he has been stalking her social media in hopes of learning about her whereabouts, but soon he found himself blocked. He has gone to the Maheswari house few times requesting them to let him speak with Kuhu, just once for a few minutes, he wants to apologize, but no luck. Kunal looks around the room, his heart feeling heavy, he walks towards the couch and slouches on it, staring into the ceiling, hoping that today he will get some sleep without the thoughts of Kuhu rushing through his mind.

~”Kumphoo stop, at least have some breakfast?” Nishant chases after Kuhu, who is halfway out the door. “I can’t Nanchak, I am already super late. I need to go set up the venue and bang my head with the catering people to make sure that this time they bring all the food items requested. I will see you in the evening!”. Kuhu waves bye and drives off. Nishant smiles at his little sis, he was super happy with the progress Kuhu had made in the past few weeks. She had interviewed with the friend he mentioned and gotten her first event couple weeks earlier. After that she has been on a roll, organizing an event almost every week. She was not depressed, and that made Nishant happy. He had informed Varsha the same, who felt a relaxed knowing that her daughter was doing well emotionally.

~Kuhu went to her room after having dinner with her Nanchak, she was so happy about the event she had organized today, she received many praises for her coordination, decoration and going far beyond the expectations. She changed into her nightdress, freshened up and grabbed a lotion bottle from her dresser. She looked at her reflection in the mirror, she felt proud of herself for pulling it together. She was happy with the self-healing process, but she wasn’t completely there, she had been able to suppress her feelings for Kunal, but they weren’t erased from her heart. There would be times, where she would find herself wondering about how Kunal was doing, longing to see his face, going back home to her the rest of her family, but she would distract herself knowing the longer she let her thoughts run wild, the harder it would get.

I have nothing more to say other than I loved this chapter!! Actually, I have so much to say but somehow, it feels that I would ruin the mood of the chapter so I'll just say that I love it💗

I loved sad Kunal and worried Abir. The MishBir hug reminded me of KuKu's Ganesh Chaturthi hug or rather NishMish mehendi one. And I am loving Kuhu moving on but still being stuck in her memories and wanting to go back.

I am curious to know if we'll get to know Meenu's plan here🧐. Also, I would love to know what changes have come in the RV house after Kuhu left, like you mentioned.

I don't know what is coming up in the story but can you give me a hint if we'll get to see Kunal and Kuhu bonding with parent figures???🙈

I loved reading this. It was very nicely done. Always wanted KuKu separation but the Kuhu that you've shown here doesn't really match the Kuhu we see on screen now - in a good way.. I like how Kuhu is capable of taking her own decisions and talks out to people whom she trusts like Nannu and Varsha.

Kunal is clueless here and in the show 😆

I love how you've developed on Kuhu, Ria! This is the spritely girl we found to be strong and no-nonsense at the beginning of the show, not the girl that satisfies herself with half-hearted love at the expense of her self-respect. Please keep going!
