Abir, Mishti and rest of the Rajvansh family watched as Meenakshi carried out her plan in hopes to make Kunal feel better. Abir felt himself boiling with anger, he wanted to tell her mom that she was being ridiculous, and this was not going to work. But this was Meenakshi Rajvansh, she didn’t care about anyone's opinion. Nanu tried to knock some sense into her, but it was clear she was not going to stop.

~Kunal came home late again, he entered the house glad that at least today no one was up, and he wouldn’t have to talk to anyone. He went straight up to his room, but he felt strange as if he was walking into an unknown place, he paused at the door, wondering if he was entering the wrong room. It wasn’t, he took a step in and took in his surroundings. The chiffon curtains Kuhu had put up around the bed were gone. He looked towards his showpiece stand the picture of Kuhu and his wedding was gone. He felt panic start to build up in his chest, he rushed towards his close and openeed it, Kuhu’s remaining outfits were gone, he looked at the dresser it was cleared out. Kunal felt his palms becoming sweaty, the look of dread crossed his face. He turned around about to call out for Jugnu, when Meenakhsi walked in. “Maa, what’s all this, all of Kuhu’s belongings are gone!” Kunal said in dismay. Meenakshi walked up to him. “I know Kunal I asked Kuhu’s stuff to be removed from your room”. Kunal looked at her shocked.

“I can see how much Kuhu’s absence has affected you, you have not been able to stay home, and its all because of Kuhu, she decided to leave you. Then why should you be ruining your life holding on to her memories. This is why I didn’t want you to marry Kuhu, I knew she wasn’t right for you, just like I knew Shweta wasn’t a right choice. She has only caused you pain Kunal and I can't watch you struggle because of her. She doesn’t deserve you Kunal”. Kunal wanted to argue, tell her to back off, to tell her that it wasn’t Kuhu who didn’t deserve him but the other way around, but he couldn’t muster up any words. He just looked on the floor, as Meenakshi explained her action, finally she left him alone. Kunal gave another look at his surroundings. What his mom did not know was that she was only taking away the materialistic things, not his memories, not his thoughts about Kuhu. He felt as empty inside, as his room looked without Kuhu’s belongings.

Parul watched as her son in the storeroom, as he opened multiple boxes shuffling things inside, when he couldn’t find what he was looking for he tossed them aside. She watched him go through few more boxes and give up, he banged his hand on the nearby wall in anger, and then held his head. Parul noticed few scrapes on the side of his hand caused by the wall. She walked up to him and gently placed her hand on his shoulder. “Kunal” she spoke softly. He looked up at Parul, his eyes red, with tears that were threatening to fall. “are you okay?” Parul asked. “I...Kuhu...her things...” He was so distraught that he could not form proper sentences. He looked at Parul’s soft encouraging eyes, “I miss her Maa!”. Kunal whispered and hugged Parul. She rubbed his back consoling him. After few moments, they separated. “I miss her Maa, all this time when she was here with me, I took her for granted, her love for granted and now that she is not here, I feel as a part of me is missing, a part that I didn’t even know existed, her belongings in my room gave me hope that she will come back, but Maa even took that away!”.

“Kunal, I don’t know what happened between you and Kuhu and at this point I don’t even want to know, but one thing I know for sure is that she had loved you dearly, even after the pain you put her through with the fake marriage and then divorce drama, she still gave you a second chance, and seems like you blew. You know Kunal they say girls are stronger, and they are, but everyone has a limit of how much they can take and maybe this was Kuhu’s limit of putting up with you. I have seen some of your interactions and all she ever wanted from you was love, trust and attention, but weren’t able to give her. Maybe you guys weren’t meant to be, maybe whatever BB did is good, maybe it's time for you to move on” Parul explained gently. “No Maa, I can’t just let it be, I love her maa! I just want one opportunity to meet her to talk to her” Kunal almost begged.

“Then fight for her Kunal, don’t give up, just like you wouldn’t give up on deals. I am sure there is a part of Kuhu that long to be with you, because she has truly loved you with all your flaws”. Parul smiled at her son. She then went to one of her boxes and pulled out Kunal and Kuhu’s wedding picture along with the mangal sutra Kuhu had left and handed them to Kunal. A tear escaped Kunal’s eyes fell on the frame, as he took it from his mom. “You chose what’s worth the effort Kunal, I was able to hide these before BB took everything out of your room and now it's up to you to decide how you want spend your time, pining for her or looking for. I am sure Kuhu’s hero would have done everything in his power to bring her back” Saying this Parul leaves the storeroom. Kunal hold their picture close to his heart.

~Next day Abir was surprised to find Kunal at the breakfast table alone with Meenakshi and Parul. He hugged his brother and expressed his happiness on seeing him.Kunal had decided he was not going to be the devdas, he will fight for his #queen.

As days passed by Kunal, went to Maheswari’s house almost everyday begging Varsha to tell him where Kuhu was, hoping that seeing his efforts Varsha would give in. He spent his days working normal hours, he no longer hid the fact that he was missing Kuhu, he expressed it to Abir and Mishti and even told them that he will find her, even if it took an eternity.

Yes, but for now that is only going to happen in our dream or this parallel KuKu universe we have going on.

I really like how Parul is inadvertently becoming closer to Kunal throughout this. One one hand, you have a mother that wants the best for her son, but doesn't understand him well enough to know what he really needs, and on the other hand, you have a mother that knows exactly what he needs, but doesn't have the power to vocalize it.

I want Kunal to fight, fight, fight! For the first time, I want him to fight for himself, and no one else. This is how he needs to put not only Kuhu first, but himself first too.

Everything I wanted to say, Meera has already said it perfectly. So ditto!

I loved to see the effort Kunal is putting in to see Kuhu. She deserves it after all that he has put her through. Hope to see more of what happens in the upcoming posts. Great writing ! Keep writing !
