This is the only explanation. I wanted to make a separate post but feared backlash. Before anyone hates me, let me say I have a gay school friend and a gay colleague and I have nothing against them. They have been some of the most understanding people I have met.

So this is just for fun. No offense intended at all. Now, my theory is this: nanko is gay and meenu knows this. She has also made him believe abir is gay.

Now here are my supporting evidences for this theory:

Nanko doesn’t find it weird that meanu doesn’t want him to marry any girl and wants to break all alliances. And since he feels abir is also gay, he is out to protect bhai from mishti.

He wanted a trophy wife like he told mishti during their courtship-he will provide for her, all she has to do is look good and attend functions as ceo’s Wife.

He doesn’t feel anything for kuhu beyond friendship. Any other guy would have been impressed by the way she adores him. He gave her the precious bracelet without even thinking twice cos it doesn’t mean anything romantic to him. In champaner trip, he read kuhu’s mind and said, “you think I will get you dhaba mein chai?” Have you ever seen any guy reading a gal’s mind like this? In abir’s word association game, he said kuhu when abir said rainbow. Post that, he has never shown any affection for her. Which shows that he only treats her as a good friend and has no romantic inclination towards her. That’s why he is ok with pretending marriage as he anyway has no intention. The word “rainbow” is also a hint;)

He is really well groomed and well dressed. Which other character can lay claim to that fame in this show? Tell me?

He spends tons of time plotting with meanu. Which other guy have you seen doing that even in ITV?

Believe me, this is the only way meanu and her munna can be redeemed when the khulasa happens. And our show can go in one jhatka from regressive to progressive. Both doyens of ITV won’t know what hit them, they won’t expect this from this ph!

Gayathri,I don't think this post is offensive in anyway. Infact, even I have had 2 gay friends from college in my life and I know how good they are...

So I like your theory. Kunal may might as well be gay. Meenu is trying to protect that truth. But I was wondering why has Meenu made Kunal think that Abir is gay?

Meanu knows abir is a rebel and so she is trying to keep him under control indirectly? She is anyway a control freak. So abir’s banjara behavior makes her uncomfortable

Umm... I thought Abir's banjaraness is turning down because of Mish. He found his 'ghar' in her. Before Mishti entered his life, Abir would leave as and when he wanted. But now, he doesn't do that because of Mish. Has Meenu realised that? Idk. If not then your theory makes sense.

Yes but doesn't she realise that Mishti can infact help her change Abir? Mishti's impact is already visible in Abir. He has not left home for once after Mishti entered his life.

I feel she does. What other explanation can there be for the blind devotion she has for benba except eternal gratitude for protecting her son? But what I don’t understand is why she wants kuku rishta to happen now. Unless she is one of those old fashioned people who believe it can be “cured” by marrying the right girl and she thinks kuhu is the right girl. If so, I would be really disappointed in her:(

Already Meenu Ben and Abir are at loggerheads so she wants someone who listens to her...she can't afford losing Abir...

Also she wants a submissive wife for Kunal...what if tomorrow kunal's wife goes tedi and says all this wealth is kunal's hardwork...there is no contribution by Abir ...she may make the bros fight...and Kunal is someone who can get influenced ...so Meenu Ben wants to control both her bahus and Kunal and Abir.
