Hi friends, how is everyone? Hope everyone had a wonderful and successful week. So after a long time wanted to review today’s episode, so here I go.
Firstly, I will start with Kuhu-Kunal. Since I expected nothing less from kuhu, I wasn’t disappointed by her decision to support kunal. Kuhu has always been clear about her priorities. For a minute I wondered if not for mishti, will she refuse kunal for Abir, but then realized this girl doesn’t care for a sister who has been with her every step of the way in this alliance despite their differences. How long has she known Abir, 2 months?, so no surprise there. This girl needs to understand that “dusraun ki pyaar ki kabrestaan ke upar joh tajmahal woh banna rahi hai, uski umar bohot choti hoti hai”. It is just a house of cards waiting for a slight wind to bring it to ground.
I feel pity for both kuhu and kunal actually. Eventually when the truth comes out, they are going to be the biggest losers. Kuhu may not lose a sister because she never considered mishti as one, but she is going to in actual sense lose the family that she believes mishti stole from her, only to be betrayed by kunal himself. As for kunal, his loss is going to be even more, because he is going to lose the one real relationship he has, his brother.
Now that I’m done feeling for the 2 immature stubborn idiots, I will start with the positive side of the episode. What could be more positive than seeing 2 beautiful souls in love, yes it’s Mishti-Abir. Today mishti refused to see “the painting” that has led to so many emotional dynamics in her relationship with Abir; the painting that has been the source of Abir’s teasing; the one that has raised her curiosity to such an extent that she was ready to risk going to rajvansh house; the one that has caused a never-before-known feeling in her - jealousy; the one painting that has made her restless. At this point, Abir may be unaware that mishti knows the truth, but mishti knows perfectly well who Abir is talking about. Somewhere I can understand mishti’s dilemma, she is still processing what she is feeling for Abir, seeing the painting is only going to confirm it and she is still not ready to face the reality. One thing she needs to understand is by refusing to see the painting, she has just put a temporary stop to reality. What she needs to realize is Abir has already crossed the threshold to her heart and made a permanent place there.
Glad that I didn’t have to wait long for that realization to sink in and what a way to realize, she had just realized and already got the blessing of nannu and BadiMa. So Abir wants a replica of BadiMa, wow, could he have been any more direct? The best thing I liked about BadiMa-Kunal and BadiMa-Abir dynamics is how it has been handled. Whatever affection or respect BadiMa felt towards kunal was because of what she believed he did for mishti, be it admitting mishti in hospital or saving her from fire. When his behavior contradicted his actions, she was forced to introspect her views (obviously with the help of BadePapa). Whereas with Abir, her affection and respect are not obligated, it’s not because he saved mishti or kuhu, but because he stood by what is right, he has earned it on his own. I really like this subtle there-but-not-there change in perspective.
Last but not the least, our own BigBen. Her favorite dialogue is “kunal mera maan hai, Abir mera abhimaan.” Maan means values and abhimaan means pride (sorry for the Hindi class, just for non Hindi friends). These are 2 things that define a person’s life. Have the kind of values that are worth living for and live the kind of life that you can be proud of. Kehte hai jiski maan nahi, uski koi swabhimaan nahi. Jiski koi swabhimaan nahi, uski koi abhimaan nahi.
BigBen is compromising both now. Kunal despite his twisted theories and blind hatred of mishti can at least be justified that he feels true love for his brother (however twisted it might be). BigBen cannot be credited with even that. She is using her one son against the other and all for what, so that mishti doesn’t break her family. She is failing to see that she has already paved the path to destruction of her own family and is busy dragging both her sons towards the end. When the truth comes out, she is going to lose both her maan and abhimaan and she has no one else to blame but herself.
BigBen and kunal are busy playing a game of chess with the sole aim of protecting their king(Abir), but unfortunately they fail to realize that once someone kills the queen((mishti), they pretty much lose the king and increase the chance of killing him.
PS: I believe mishti refusing to see the painting maybe for drama sake, but call me a romantic, but I liked it. People say being in love is beautiful, but you know what is even more beautiful, the realization that the person you love is also feeling the same for you and yet pretending to be just friends. This is the phase where the butterflies fly in your stomach, the phase when the whole world maybe on fire yet you are the coolest person on earth, the waiting phase before you finally accept to trust someone more than yourself.
This is something once I read in a book, I found it beautiful, thought of sharing it. What is trust for someone in love? When you trust someone, you are giving them the power to hurt you too. It’s like saying “hey here’s a really sharp knife, stab me in the heart anytime you like.” Now that’s courage for me.
As always wrote a really long one, sorry about that and appreciate the patience. Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Have a great weekend. Take care.
