Courtship with kunal- my take - Page 4

Great post.👍🏼.agree wid u all.. in our society, parents mostly see job,house family,all materialistic things.. Ladka kaise hai this is secondary. within 10 mins how can v decide if the guy is good..to bas uper uper ki cheeze dekho nd yes keh do..like u said kunal is well settled,so definitely any family wld choose him. My family is also looking for a match.. so meenu ki narrow minded thinking nd abir ka bhed bakri wala dialogue is soo real.. This has happened wid me nd my frnds.. so i knw how it feels... nd m soo happy that v got to see this courtship thing in the show.. atlest some families will start thinking in this direction.. 😊

I liked what they did with showing Kunal as sort of this nice guy initially and then peeling the layers during the courtship track to show that there are some unpleasant aspects to his mindset and personality. Now these aspects may not be a big deal if someone just wants to have an acquaintance or casual friendship with Kunal but a very big deal for someone who has to marry such a person.

And I also think Mishti is wrong in thinking that Kunal was wrong for her but right for Kuhu. Here, Mishti is blinded by her guilt and Kuhu's love. Yes, the aspects that became an issue between Kunal and Mishti such as her doing a job, her glasses and her father do not exist between Kunal and Kuhu. The point wasn't about what the issues were but how Kunal dealt with them; his ego and him thinking that he can thrust his opinions onto the other person. These issues still exist in him and he doesn't think he went wrong anywhere; he still blames Mishti for everything. And as viewers, we know that Kunal is just going along with Kuhu on Meenu's orders which itself shows how Kunal isn't right for Kuhu.

Now I don't suppose the writers intend to make Kunal fully evil. They did mention that Kunal was not like this before and he became this way because of Meenu and Shweta's incident. So they might show him change eventually and be the right person for Kuhu (not before Kuhu suffers a huge heartbreak). However, in real life, people do not change certain traits very easily and these things can become toxic in a marriage.

Yes you are absolutely right... courtship may not let you know the person entirely... because it takes a life and sometimes even more to understand others...but anyday better then deciding in 10 mins

Bold- because of this only I feel there will be a Kunal redemption track ...in real life whether it's a man or a woman ...it's difficult to change certain habits also ...forget mindset and belief...we can always hope for a better tomorrow though

However it's a fiction a show that is loosely inspired by real life so makers can take liberties.

This post is so well written Mashallah🤗. Even I also loved the subtle way they showed the courtship track. It is a topic that needs to be discussed in the whole arranged marriage setup. As Mish said in one of the promos that aik cup chai par kaisay decide kar lay kay puri life saath guzarni hain? Also people like Kunal do exist in real life who tick a lot of boxes and on the surface appear to be the best choice. Its only when you get to know them better you realize how they have certain toxic traits. Moreover, I loved the message they gave that no is an option and a girl has a right to say no. Marriage is a big decision and it shouldn't be made in haste or be based on a whim.
