What else is everyone in this story doing right now BUT managing Kunal ka fragile ego? lol even Mishti despite taking a stand for her free choice is now in guilt over “hurting” Kunal 🙄😂. What’s the point of making a firm choice if you will only be in guilt over it?

The writers claim they are giving a message but all it comes down to in the end always is an exercise in managing the fragile male ego no matter how much he misbehaves 🤷‍♀️😂. So kaahe ka message then? Ghanta 🙄😂

Abhir's lectures apply to everyone apart from his brother 😆 Abhir is convinced Kunal is the victim of heartbreak and his mom's atyachar. Mishti has been brainwashed into believing that she was unfair to Kunal by rejecting him at the last moment because everyone around constantly keeps telling her he is a great guy. The writers want to give a message yet make sure Kunal is justified by the leads. I have a feeling they will even try to justify Meenu at some point 🤣

I doubt that has any symbolism. Or we should have zoomed in and noticed which part has more kheechad ( blue or pink) to derive which side will create greater problems in the love story 😆

And that is why the central premise is moot. Lol. When you are just going to give in to the very societal mindset you claim to be trying to rise above, what’s the point?

Would have been better if the show just accepted that patriarchal and sexist mindsets are a given rather than trying to show empty lectures from the lead characters. Nobody has any clear understanding of what’s wrong with this mindset and everything is excused and whitewashed in the name of “family love”. If superficial is all they can do, then stick to that rather than pretentious posturing.

Kunal and Kuhu are so poorly one dimensional as characters but we are expected to buy into AM’s love for them as a valid reason for this whitewashing 🙄. Lol

Yep KK will be permanent panautis. Problem children who are self absorbed and AM will be busy doing random sacrificing for them or drowning in guilt. Mehh. Lol

I think its a common pattern I have noticed in a lot of shows. Where abuse/problematic behaviour is called out yet there is some back story to justify that person and the lead actors as always are either blind in their love/have a martyr syndrome/God complex and everything the character does is justified or brushed under the carpet. Am still hoping Kuhu gets a rude reality check post marriage and realizes how shallow or superficial her thinking is and they show an actual arch for Kunal wherein he acknowledges his issues (despite the mollycoddling) and works towards changing himself. Maybe the revelation that Parul is his mother might get him to do it. Well, cheers to hope even if the chances are bleak 😆

as much as I want Kuhu to wake up, I dont want her getting hurt either, lol and as far as Kunal is concerned, family se to muje umeed ni hai inki , koi change aayega to putside circumstance or person ki wajah se.

Yes, that does happen. So the issue isn’t that abusive behavior is only there in this show. The issue is that the writing is much more shallow here. There isn’t enough fleshing out of Kunal’s personality to explain his behavior, problematic or otherwise. He is literally a one dimensional cardboard who behaves like an ogre.

In other shows, the motivations of abusive characters are more clearly defined and if not the leads, atleast some side character or villain points out the hypocrisy or sexism. But here there is literally nothing. Cuz the writing oscillates between some good AM convos and otherwise vapid Kunal-Kuhu drama. They struggle with conviction for the characters.

This ain't highlights of the weeks rather short comings

The story goes back and forth on " A suitable boy for A suitable girl".

Highlights.

i liked Ishq wala love. Screen age 30 year old male has the right to build castles in the air as he has fallen hook , line and sinker for a moral science teacher.

The chitter chatter between Mishti and Abir is fun. Miss Prim and Proper goes crazy with Mr. Funnybones.

Nanu and Bade Papa are more realistic characters.

They draw parallels. Also Naman was put to use

The leads are given more screen time, kuhu is really a part of the plot.

Fine details like jugnu passing on Abir's number to kuhu

Shortcomings

Weak story line. Again Kunal ka Rishta.

Editing.

Dance face offs on Sangeet or Wedding tracks are okay. Badtameez dil was fine with Kuhu breaking into some impromtu bathroom numbers. Getting Abir and Mishti into the same frame was disconnecting. Mr.Rajvansh was just flinging his hands and those NGO girls here and there. Rap numbers do not blend, the ML is no M C Sher of Gully Boy. it is not needed. Slow numbers are better. Shaheer does a very good job, subject his character going into some dream mode.

Supporting cast.

Nidhi exhibits sarcasm and she gets attention, what abt other characters. No spunk. Lets keep Nanu, Bade Papa and BB aside.

Star Plus and their promotional activities.

This entire track has been written to suit hostages. Mataji is spending lakhs on VFX and getting a 50 year old Mr. B to unveil only the logo of his empire. Whereas the original RB of KzK1 is fixed in as an advertisement. They have done the same blunder earlier ,, random Jasmeet and Kuhu talking about this particular webseries. Idk why they chose YRHPK, i mean kidnapping was going on in KZK2 also, Prithvi carrying out resuce mission was so damn appropriate. Ad budgets are decided only those who rake in trps ? yahan Ishq wala love hasn't even appeared on Sitara's online handles. Biggest shortcoming. Sitara has to learn from Rangeela, montages are attractive, once in a month promos even if they are on off air spree these days.

Creatives need to more creative.

I actually think thats probably because they somehow want to justify Kunal too 😆 They want to show a message by getting the leads to call him out but at the same time get them to sympathize with him too and 'understand' his issues so that the viewers don't categorize him as a problematic character. The writers unfortunately cant have it both ways which is why it is important to call him out, get him to acknowledge his issues so that the message is properly conveyed and then show the transformation. Guess am expecting too much 😆

Despite this annoying rishta flip flop and Kunal-Kuhu's characterization, I guess I like AM enough to continue watching the show and try to make sense of things 😆
