Part 1

Ever since this track started we all wanted this ristha exchange to end somehow. I agreed with most people that Abhir shouldn't be the reason for the end of the relationship and I am glad it wasn't the case. Rhea Sharma absolutely nailed the confrontation scene along with Ritvick they were both amazing. Whatever Misthi said to Kunal was so true he didn't trust her or care about her not once in the job scene did he ask what Mishti wanted to do or even in the eye surgery scene he didn't even bother to get her opinion and for him the courtship thing was just a small project. Misthi put her heart and soul into the courtship thing and she fought with everyone for it so for Kunal to dismiss it by calling the whole thing unimportant was uncalled for. Also in a way he cat fished her for not telling her before that everything was Abhir's idea. Then the way he blamed Misthi for her father's crimes was puke worthy and when towards the end he said that I forgive you I wanted to get inside the screen and slap this pompous a--- hole. Even if it was just small things like flowers , poetry and balloons all these things mattered to Misthi and isn't it the small things that shows us who really cares. Time and time again Kunal has made a mockery of Misthi's feelings. Whatever Misthi said to him was spot on a relationship requires trust and if in a difficult situation your spouse cannot support you or believe in you then what's the point. In Misthi's whole family the only sane person is Bade Papa who told her that he didn't care about the ristha he cared about his daughter's happiness. I have no words for Badi Maa's paranoia and also Kuhu. Kuhu needs to wake up from her la la land of fantasy where she is just mesmerized by Kunals's looks. Kuku really need to work upon themselves before getting with each other because both of them have some very toxic traits but I think they will bond over their shared dislike for Misthi and Kuhu seems like a person who doesn't have an opinion so a perfect doormat wife for Kunal. I loved how Ben Baa's plans failed and her Munna was rejected by a girl. Like ROFL all her fake crying and bitching about Misthi made me laugh and I love how Bade papa told her that she wasn't upset about the ristha breaking but more about the fact that Misthi broke it and what was that crap about larki walon kay tevar. That's a big problem of South Asian society where the larki wala are supposed to go out of the way for the Larka walas and not to raise a voice against them.

Part 2

Abhir man I have no words for you. Where are guys like you in real life loved how he introspected about Kunal's behavior when Misthi said that K was non serious about courstship and loved how he stopped his Maa's trash talk. And haaye Allah his outburst was so good👏. He was right why do rules in our society only exist for woman. Why are all actions done by boys are excused under the banner that 'boys will be boys'. Why is society so afraid of woman who can speak their mind and have an opinion and why is male ego so fragile. All these undue expections that society places on women and the way they are raised to be seen but not to be heard needs to change asap and we need to hold boys accountable. In this particular scenario Kunal was at fault he forgot that Misthi isn't some office worker whom he can give orders and expect her to obey them she is a person who has the right to make her own choices. I even loved how Nanu kept on pitching in and supported Abhir. Also what Abhir and Bade Papa said to Ben Baa she herself is so opinionated like I loled when Bade Papa said "aap toh dikhahi bhi dayti hain aur sunai bhi dayti hain" and also when Abhir said"Maa aap khud aik working woman hain toh app nay Kunal ko bola kyun nah kay Misthi ko job karany say mat rokay" and also the Ketki point. Like if its your own daughter then everything is allowed but god forbid if its another person's daughter then the girl is at fault.

I really liked the fact that the men in this show are feminists. I mean the way Abir spoke up in front of Big Ben, Bade papa supported Mishti and Nanu understood both sides' pov, makes this show progressive. What I really am a little annoyed about is the females of the show. I mean I know it's often said that a female is another female's worst enemy but why don't we ever portray women who support each other? What about girl love? I agree that the show is trying to portray a realistic depiction of how relationships coexist. However, I guess they could take it a step further in trying to show how women can support each other.

A working woman like Meenakshi who herself is so strong cannot tolerate someone who is independent like Mishti. Badi Maa, who herself is married to such an understanding and supportive husband doesn't see that Kunal is unsupportive and not a match for Mishti. Kuhu, who herself has experienced Kunal's outbursts doesn't think that Kunal is a at fault. Then goes, the other women in the families... Nidhi- I don't understand how can she call someone who saved her own daughter from a fraud 'shaani'. Jasmeet has been unbelievable from the start itself so I don't want to talk further about her. The only two women whose dilemma that I agree to certain extent is Varsha and Parul. Varsha's response to Mrs Parekh which was followed by her angst towards the whole situation affecting Kuhu's life was apt. I am giving the benefit of doubt to Parul since I don't know what kind of sacrifice Meenakshi made for her that she is so indebted to her. I liked Ketki's response to Mishti today- it showed her hesitation to be with Mishti inspite of her liking Mishti.

What I really feel is that the women in the show are beyond annoying. I mean, c'mon how can you show that not even a single woman understands Mishti's perspective? Why are the men so understanding and not the women?

While I liked many other dialogues from Abir’s lecture in that epi where he called out Meenu’s hypocrisy, this bit in bold I don’t agree with.

Abir makes WAY too many excuses for Kunal even now. Still only blaming Meenu and expecting only HER to stop Kunal’s bad behavior. Where were YOU, Abir? Did YOU stop your brother from misbehaving with mishti? Nope. You just wandered around confused and unsure. Bas lecture de do but otherwise you still think Kunal is some innocent child. He is not. Until Abir stops making excuses for Kunal and holds him ACCOUNTABLE for his behavior, nothing will change. It’s easy to blame Meenu but I don’t get why no one expects Kunal to take any ownership for his disgusting behavior 🙄

Lol society in general likes to pit women against each other. That is why they highlighted the glaring hypocrisy from Meenu who is a working woman herself but doesn’t want a working wife for her son. Women are raised to view each other as competitors for the men in their lives. Competing for the affections of a father and later for husbands and sons.

It really is quite sad how most women don’t realize that. Instead of standing up for their own kind, they are conditioned to always blame themselves for not being good enough for men or to view other women as a threat in a power struggle😕

Mishti is being isolated in her views to get audience sympathy I suppose. Lol everyone’s against her and only the two important men in her life support her right to her own choices.

Sad reality. I feel Meenakshi's hypocrisy has been outwardly regarded in the show. But the other characters' faults are not openly called out on. I mean Badi Maa, has been the sole reason for this marriage going ahead. Her very assumption that Mishti is weak to protect herself and needs a husband to do that is so regressive. Her disregard for Kuhu's embarrassment over rejection and allowing Mishti to go ahead with a rishta was wrong in the first place. Then followed her urge for Mishti to ask Kunal for permission to work- an equally regressive thinking. I'm glad Mishti went ahead with what she thought was right rather than listening to Badi Maa/Kunal.

I think its more to do with the traditional norms they have shown. Most of the woman on the show have succumbed to societal pressure. Even Varsha was affected by what Mrs Parekh said. Nidhi is afraid to speak up against Meenu and Bade Maa is hysterical. Even in real life in traditional families in most cases the women are not supportive of each other.

True someone really needs to knock sense in Kunal and Kuhu. They need to get rid of toxic traits

I totally agree. They are trying to take the argument of traditionalist vs modernist thoughts and trying to show what's right. The balance between these is required in order to channelise the right message.
