I believe this without a doubt. It's such an irony that everything from shows getting started to going off air to even the storylines are determined on the basis of a system which in itself is so rigged and prone to manipulation. It's a great thing this news broke out because it certainly does not only apply to news channels but entertainment channels as well.

Wow, this is Great! So they started with TRP tampering right from Doordarshan days. This article in the tweet is an eye opener. Had heard strong rumors about particular channels doing this, but this article details how it was done and still being done!
