I'm unable to feel any pity for Ruhi Rohit. They deserve it. They made bad choices, blamed others and now they can suffer and be unhappy.

Look forward to Abhimaan scenes . Sounds like Abhira may have memory issues. 🤔 Tough spot for Armaan if she has lost memory because he can make a new start with her but she also deserves to know everything that happened before between them.

Chapter 9 - A Blessing or A Curse?

Armaan doesn't remember how he reached hospital and got out of the car. He straightly went towards ICU without wasting a minute. All he wanted do is to see his silly girl, hug her tightly, kiss her and tell her how much he missed her, how much sorry he was for hurting her and ask for one last chance to make things right. But little did his mind warned him out of instinct that something was wrong.

He ran towards ICU door excitedly only to get stopped by madhav. Armaan looked at him clearly annoyed for stopping him from meeting abhira. But seeing tensed faces of krish and manoj along with madhav he controlled a little and asked, "What happened papa? My abhira is awake finally. Why are you not letting me meet her? I wanna see her." Madhav exchanged worried glances with krish and manoj which didn't go unnoticed by armaan. A strange fear took over his happiness suddenly.

"What is wrong with you guys? Will you tell me something clearly instead of talking to eachother through eyes? Is everything alright with abhira? Why the hell you are not letting me meet her?", armaan almost yelled as frustration and uneasiness were washing over him.

"Please calm down beta, you can't act impulsively like this. You have to be strong for abhira's sake.", said manisha who just came there. Her face has turned pale. Dry traces of tears were clearly visible. "What are you saying chachi sa? Please tell me that my abhira is alright...", armaan cried as he was getting terrified about what kind of a news is gonna come.

"Your wife is fine, atleast for now. But you meeting her at this point won't be good for her. You have to act on sense instead of getting carried away by emotions.", doctor tried to make armaan prepared to face the situation. "What are talking about doctor? Please be clear...", armaan desperately asked. Then doctor guided them to his cabin to give an detailed explanation of abhira's current condition.

As they went inside, armaan sat on a chair trembling. Madhav and manisha settled down on chairs on side holding armaan's hand. Manoj and krish held armaan's shoulder as a support. Doctor settled on his chair and took a deep breath since the news which he is gonna deliver will change armaan's life drastically.

"Mr.Poddar, I want you to carefully listen to me. Your wife, abhira has woken up from coma after 3 weeks. She suffered a severe head injury which caused internal bleeding to her brain due to which she slipped into coma. We already expected some after effects but situation has turned worse than that. Due to her brain injury, abhira is suffering from retrograde amnesia condition. After examining and questioning her, we discovered that she has lost her partial memory of past 1 & half years of her life."

Armaan was beyond shocked. What is doctor saying? Abhira has lost her memory...partial or whatever...means has she forgotten him too?...He was terrified to even think about it.

Doctor continued, " The last thing she remembers is her mother's death but that's also in a blurry vision. Suprisingly, she doesn't remember you being in picture clearly. She is utterly confused at the moment. Its not good for her to give any kind of stress. Already, we are spectacular about how to break the news of her mother's death about which she is still unaware of. She only remembers her getting shot in blurry view.

I am sorry but she has forgotten her experiences and interactions with people from past 1 & half years. So we have to handle her very carefully. As of now, we can't drop the bomb of her marriage to you as it will only stress out her more which will affect her health very badly. So...I am sorry to say but you can't meet her. At the moment, you are just a mere stranger for her. Nothing else. ", doctor tried his best to explain the situation calmy.

As armaan heard what doctor said, his heart broke into million pieces. His silly girl has forgot him. No,this can't be true...This should be a horrible nightmare...Here he is waiting to make up for everything which went wrong but he has become a complete stranger for her whom she won't even recognize. He went totally numb, not understanding what to do.

Madhav who barely found his voice after doctor's explanation asked a very important question as other's were silently crying not being able digest this bitter reality. "But doctor how did she forget about all these interactions with us particularly? Isn't this kind of strange?"

"Of course, it is. But sometimes when experiencing extreme stress for a long time, our brain tends to delete some memories of ours which are related to that stress obviously in this kind of brain injury. Its a very rare case of dissociative amnesia. Our brain uses it as a defence mechanism to protect ourselves from that trauma. Maybe that's why she only remembers her mother getting shot but not her death. I am sorry to say this but according to abhira's medical reports,she was using high dose sleeping pills and anxiety pills from 2 & half month before this accident. So its clear that interactions with you people had been quiet stressfull for her.

After enduring for a long time, finally her brain has took action to save her from further damage, To erase those memories...Both brain injury and continuous stress combined, her brain has taken this step. Well, we can't blame her either. Human brain is a very difficult mechanism to understand" , doctors explained further.

"So, when she will regain her lost memory, doctor?", manisha asked still holding to that thin thread of hope which was left.

"Well, we can't tell anything about that. But frankly speaking, abhira's brain injury is much serious that chances of memory revival is very less. Most of the time, she will never remember those again. Even if she does, that will only be bits and bytes from which she won't be able to make proper sense, rather she will be confused more", doctor replied with uncertainty.

All these heavy medical terms flew above armaan's head. All he could understand was that abhira has completely forgotten his existance in her life. And that was more than enough to rip his soul apart. He got up stumbling and went out of doctor's cabin aimlessly while krish ran after him not wanting to leave him alone.

After few hours,

Goenkas also arrived with ruhi immediately after they got the news of abhira being awake from coma. But got shocked when doctor explained abhira's condition, specially about her memory loss, forgetting everything related to armaan even akshara's death. After running few more tests and having some carefully drafted conversations with abhira, doctors suggested that abhira's connection with poddars must not get revealed to her immediately as it might cause more stress for her not bring able to take so much at once. So they advised goenkas to carefully break the news of akshara's death to abhira as they're her and akshara's blood related family at the moment.

At special care ward,

Abhira was staring blankly at the ceiling . She was getting more and more anxious with each minute passing. All she wanted to go to her mother and hug her tightly. But she didn't seem to get answers to her questions. All the hospital staff was being very kind and attentive towards her but was ignoring her most important question, where is her mumma? As she was too weak to even get up from the bed, all she could do was holding into the hope which they gave her that she will soon get to know about her mother.

Just then, the door opened and four people came towards her bed. As the nurse helped her to sit on the bed, she leaned to head board and tried to recognize those people. There were two old ladies, one young woman and one old man. She could only recognize that old person, whom she met at resort, Mr.Parnanu.... All others were strangers to her even though she could see tears glistening in their eyes as they looked at her.

Mr.Parnanu approached her and caressed her head affectionately. "How are feeling now my child?", he asked. Even though she could feel the warmth of his voice, her mother's thoughts were constantly worrying her.

"Much better,parnanu. But how come you are here? Anyways, now that you are here anyway, can you do me a favor?", abhira asked with hope.

"Tell me, my child", he said.

"Can you help me to find my mother? All I know is I was in a coma, god knows for how much time. The last thing I remember was my mumma getting shot by that bloody psycho yuvraj. I am terrified about what has happened to her? Also this place doesn't look like mussorie to me. I don't understand what to do? Can you please help me?", abhira asked trying to fight her tears.

Manish's heart clenched listening to the innocent plea of abhira. How is he gonna explain all this to her? How will she react? Will she be able to handle the shock that akshara is no more? Will abhira accept them as her family?

His chain of thoughts were broken by the voice of a faint sob which escaped ruhi's mouth. Her heart was aching to see her lil sister in this condition. She was confused to how to handle the situation. Is this a blessing that abhira has completely forgotten the mental tourture which she faced due to poddars from past 1 & a half years or is this a curse that she has also forgotten that person whom she loved the most aftet her mumma? She didn't have answers.

Manish finally gathered courage and started talking softly, "I am sorry, my child. I couldn't save my akshu. Your mumma, my daughter akshara, she is no more among us. She left us forever. I am really very sorry."

Abhira felt like a thunder occurred. What is he saying? No, this can't be true. How could her mumma leave her alone? No, this must be some kind of bloody joke.

Doctor understood the dilemma in abhira's mind and confirmed akshara's death showing her death certificate which shocked abhira.

"No.........Mumma.....", abhira started screaming as the horrible reality started to sink that her mother is no more and she is left alone in this world. She tried get out of bed forcing against her pain as she wanted to see her mumma at least for one last time while nurses and doctors tried to calm her down. Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain on her upper arm like a needle pierced into her skin. Within few minutes, everything went blank leaving her to meet her mumma in her dreams as in reality that meeting was impossible now.
