they were real and accepted the bahu though difference of opinion was there they never humiliated their bahu at home or degrade her any day. Same went to naira. She was not liked as her tortarikha was different. But she was accepted by family asked sorry by dadi manish and given her that love back. Though it's not like s1 shw got ijjat in sasural. Akshu was blamed for deaths everywhere and thrown out. She didn't retain what she got from families nor had any buddhi to take proper decisions that's where she got nothing. Moreover sacrifice amd and gratitudes buried her totally not to chose herself properly any day. Mils in s2 and other were idhar udhar only. Accepted when redeemed taunted when deaths are shown. They don't make it like s1 as dadi will never be like them. And these characters are designed for this season they won't overpower anyone. Everyone has their own mark. Badi dadi I lo ed her a lot though she has difference of opinions she gave ak that ijjat amd and accepted her back. In s2 she showered that love on naira. They both had that bonding from childhood. They explored all relations properly so that we can attach to them. Here when Vidya is on ruhi or abhira side the consistency in character is not explored. See difference in personalities I get cause Abhira and Naira had very different upbringing from og Akshara. But the best part of gen 1 imo was that the characters were way real. There was no one toxic as such in it ( not counting guest appearance type characters like nandini's saas). When Naitik went to coma and Akshara was blaming herself, Gayatri was the one to say that both naitik and akshra are equally loved by her, and none of it was Akshara's fault. I cannot imagine any of the other MIL's of rishta ever saying that.
