Just wrote this piece after getting frustrated with the current track. I am not a writer, so my writing is not good. But since I wrote this piece, so thought of sharing it with others in the forum.
This story proceed after the deal marriage revelation in front of the family by Phuphasa. I had assumed that Abhira leaves the house and comes back on Madhav's insistence.
Chapter 1
This chapter starts after Abhira comes back to live in the Poddar house after Madhav’s insistence. She didn’t want to come back but when Madhav asked her as a father she couldn’t refuse. She never got to know her father. Through Madhav, she got to know how it feels to have a father. And after losing everything she held dear; she couldn’t lose this one precious relationship. It’s often said, “Dubte hue ko tinke ka Sahara bhi kaphi hai.” Though, she hasn’t lost all her hope. She still wants to stand up, complete her education, and become a successful lawyer. But all the accusations and hate towards her, broke her heart. So, when Madhav lovingly asked her to come back not as a daughter-in-law but as his daughter, she couldn’t refuse and agreed. So, Abhira is back in Poddar's house but Armaan and Abhira no longer share a room. Now there is no need to pretend in front of the family. Therefore, Abhira was staying in the guest room.
Abhira’s POV
Abhira was quietly sitting in her room, contemplating how within a moment everything changed for her. She was living in a mirage, suddenly the lightning truth struck and brought her back to reality where everything was a lie. Her marriage to Armaan was a lie and her relationship to the Poddar family was also a lie. The breaking point of her friendship with Armaan was the moment he tagged her as only his responsibility. Someone he wanted to get rid of as soon as possible. She holds no value in his life and there was only that one-year agreement that was bounding him to her. She was glad she got to know the truth before she made a fool of herself by confessing her love to him. The divorce proceeding for ending their marriage was also started by Dadisa and should be over in 3 months' duration.
Abhira was now living in the house as a guest. She minimized any interaction with family. She knew she was no longer welcome to join the family members for meals. So, she got up early before anyone was up and prepared her breakfast and lunch. At night, she would have a late dinner. Though she tried to avoid everyone, her Madhav papa or the chorus gang would always find her and try to cheer her. She was glad to have their support and they were the only reason she was still staying in this house. She often noticed Armaan watching her with a look of longing that she failed to understand. It was as if he was missing her, but she knew better. She always misinterpreted his feelings towards her. He is just concerned due to his promise to her mom. She also noticed how Ruhi was extra cheerful and always followed Armaan, preparing his meal, and joining him for late-night talks and whatnot. She thought it was because they were best friends but how wrong she was. It was because she was Armaan’s past lover and they still loved each other and decided to marry each other after three months. It was a shocking truth. She couldn’t imagine Armaan could do something like this to his brother and her. She thought of confronting him. But then she thought what right does she have to question him? And will it change anything? Rohit is long gone and as for her marriage, it doesn’t hold any meaning to Armaan. So why would he care? She just fails to understand how she fell in love with someone like Armaan. She shudders now that she knows the entire picture. She should have understood when she got so many hints in the past. Both of them made a good fool out of her. Phew! She was just glad to be back to reality before it was too late.
Armaan's POV
Armaan was feeling a gaping hole in his heart as if something precious had gone away from his life. His life doesn't feel the same, his room doesn't feel the same, and everything feels incomplete. He misses her a lot. Her chutter patter, her million-dollar smile, her antics, and her craziness. He misses everything about her. He thought that once Abhira was gone, his life would fall back to how it was earlier, but how wrong he was? He misses talking to her but he cannot talk to her. She doesn't even spare him a glance. Despite this feeling of restlessness, he has some respite as he can watch her from afar. Abhira doesn't know it but whenever she is talking to his father or the chorus gang, he hides in a corner and watches her from afar. He can't imagine his life once she moves out of Poddar's house. As for Ruhi, she is getting more and more clingy every day. She would drop in his office every day for lunch and come to his room to talk about their marriage plans or complain about his changed behavior towards her. He didn't pay much attention earlier but now her behavior is suffocating him. It's like he can't even have a moment of peace with himself. It's getting harder for him to tolerate her for a few minutes. How would he spend his life with her? God, what has he gotten himself into?
Suddenly, Ruhi appeared in front of him.
Ru (with dreamy eyes): Armaannn, let's go somewhere for a long drive. The climate is so nice.
Ar (with a face of indifference): Ruhi, not now. I got to finish some work. The past few weeks were very stressful. I couldn't focus on my work. So I need to catch up on that.
Ru(tensed face): You are not trying to avoid me, right?
Ar(in mind: hell yes!): Of course not!
Ru: Okay! I will let you work.
