In India TV viewing is a family activity or an activity that might go on in parallel to cooking, dinner, kids homework etc. That inherently makes social drama a preference for families as considered to "hot romance" that online audience seems to want.

And no one cares about actors amongst trp audience. A Shahrukh or Salman movie guarantees an opening even if a movie flops later- no tv actor has that kind of stardom. It's always the characters who either connects or misses.

Every show has their niche audience ..anupama , yrkkh or ghum or any other top rated show.. ...that's why trps stay constant as long as they run out of ideas and start doing crazy stuff ...

actors come and go , no actor can stay in a show for more than a year or two bec nobody would wanna play oldies or parents...So these shows are not seen for the actors or chemistry as claimed by many ...they work for several other reasons..

The point is , why blame trp audience for regressive content when we're the ones acting all obsessed over a stupid show bec of our fav actors ? They may have their reasons for watching but what about our reasons ? We have jobs , studies , families , on the top of it we claim we are the intellectuals who are the best judge . When we can't get over it why expect trp aunties get rid of their habit ?

I said "we" everywhere bec I am including myself in that section of audience . I hardly watch it yet I can't stop coming here everyday ..but I'm not the one blaming the trp aunties either. May be I'm.one of them.
