I think he has realization of where he went wrong but he also needs to see the faults in his own family - how people blame each other or use each other’s problems for their own gains. I think he is on the right path since he’s thinking about not wanting his son to have a childhood similar to his own. For me his redemption and realization would be complete once Abhir is truly happy again!
