Whether it's here or social media whenever I mentioned Abhir's mental health the response was the same. He is happy and he doesn't have any problems. Or he was raised well and he is happy with the Sharma family. Now, that his distress is being shown will her cruel decision to lie to a child about his entire identity be acknowledged? He was happy because he didn't know anything. Ignorance is bliss lol. After he found about Abhinav not being his father he was happy with his parents, but still wanted to know about his real father. Abhir loves his parents and has shown his loyalty to them constantly, but they are still manipulating the situation. Why cheat when you're already winning?
While her decision wrong from the start, but I could sympathize with her because she was a new mother and she just got out of a coma. She was traumatized and emotionally weak. However, the next six years of lies, half-truths, and gaslighting after he found about Abhinav was beyond cruel. It was all intentional. Telling him they are going back to UD to fight a custody battle because his real father wants him was diabolical. His innocent curiosity about his father turned into a nightmare. The real father he wanted to meet, ask questions, talk to, and see is now a boogeyman thanks to his parents. I don't understand how that is being applauded as a happy family or love. Every decision about Abhir were hers only. She decided who his father would be without Abhi's knowledge or consent. She decided that he wouldn't meet his family, but ironically didn't hesitate to go back for Arohi or Mimi. When it's about her family it's important when it's about others she has no empathy. She decided where and how he should live. She decided not tell him the truth about his father even though he knew about Abhinav. The truth is she started all this and her family put the rest into motion. Manish restarted the custody battle and also put the condition that Abhir would have to live the rest of his life not knowing about his real father if Abhi lost. Abhi came into their lives six years later it's absurd to blame him for everyone else's actions. He couldn't even buy his son comfortable shoes because his old ones were torn.
I hate how dismissive ITV shows are about children and their trauma. However, I understand what I signed up for when I watch a ITV show, but still I hate it with a passion lol. Children are human beings with feelings, thoughts, and fears. I don't like watching children cry even if it's fictional. Sadly, I doubt any of the damage done to Abhir will be addressed. It's ITV so everyone will be dancing together soon, but her disregard for Abhir is terrifying. It won't happen but I hope we get see Abhir's track being explored. Children aren't cute little dolls that you can manipulate. I know that some people like them ( and I respect that), but the Sharma family always felt artificial to me. Now, makers are solidifying that their "happy family" can only work at the expense of others. First, it was Abhi's pain and now Abhir's fears.
