There are several cases where mothers change paternity of child after getting remarried & there is no case of "paternity fraud" on them court ask for evidence of DNA sample to change father's name on birth certificate.

in India, a person can divorce or re marry multiple times, surnames also tend to change but I don't think a mother has the authority to completely erase or omit birth father's existence until and unless he disowns or gives up his rights.
