Yes but then that doesn't lead to any satisfaction storywise. If she's getting back with her ex whom she considers a bad past just because her son wants it, and her beloved husband died, then that isn't soulmate wala love na. Neither is that a satisfactory base for future tracks or leaps. That's just leaves the audience bored and disinterested like Kalank's ending. Alia's character never developed anything genuine for Aditya's character and stayed with him just because Varun's character died. That's why the movie failed because it wasn't a true triangle
Imho, they would explore both tangents and milk on Abhira reunion when and if it gets exhausted. Not to mention that they are entangling Akshara and Gorillas more with Abhinav's family.
Even in the promo, Akshara is more attentive to Abhinav leaving than playing house with Abhimanyu.
