From what I heard it was SP interfering too much in the show that led to a fall out with SP and that led to it going off air. Same reason was apparently reason for kyunki saas going off air prematurely before they could shoot a proper final episode for show so that's why it ended on a weird cliffhanger.

Wasn't Ekta trying very hard to get into the good books of Colors TV. She produced Parichay around the same with Samir Soni as the main lead..

As far as I know Uday Shankar did not take her sudden interest in Rangy very lightly and inspite of TL doing well both PH and SP took panga with each other.

Afterwards she realised her folly and pushed Sandip Sikcand forward for YHM negotiations.

I don't have full deets, but at the time of TL going off air I heard news that the reason for it being taken off air is same as why KSBKBT was taken off air, and that was SP's excessive interference in the script and demanding certain track changes that were not acceptable to ekta and that's how she and SP clashed. I actually heard a lot of mixed stories so you're probs correct too, but SP and interfering in scripts is notorious more than any other channel so it's not too surprising.
