Does Akshu still love Abhimanyu? I think she does have feelings for him- but she's in deep trauma. Her distance from music or singing that was her passion, her devastation from the past- Neil's death, abuse, getting thrown out and divorced, miscarriage, lack of support- it's quite evident that she is extremely lonely and feels abandoned and unlucky. On the other hand- she proves to be quite lucky for Abhinav for she has given him Abhir- a son to love and cherish and his own family. The writers have been showing both Akshu and Abhimanyu suffering a lot because of their families and have been exposed to therapy but both fail to take concrete action to overcome this. I see Akshu is drudging through life- she obviously loves Abhir and is a good mom. She also cares about Abhinav but she is deeply unwilling to open her heart. I can see that she would have fallen for Abhinav because he has all the good qualities of a husband. I don't see the fact that she is not over her past is because she is still madly in love with Abhimanyu- I see it more as that she has been so hurt and she's so afraid to move on. She is also hiding Abhir's parentage- which is understandable because at that point her relationship with Abhimanyu was over-people may disagree but women have the first right to their child i.e they can even decide to abort them without their partner's consent. Akshara was clearly at the weakest at that point. That's why she decided to make Abhinav, father of Abhir too. It's clear Akshara was struggling with depression. People say that she should have been a strong single mother and not taken any guy's help- but come on. There are mothers who give their babies for adoption when they can't mentally take care of them. Akshara chose to stay with Abhinav in her pregnancy and was emotionally depended on him because she didn't want to be around her family. She couldn't deal with that stress. When she saw that Abhinav saved her child and already loved him, she made him the father. She needed him. She wanted a partner to raise her child and build a family with because she felt like she didn't have anyone in her life. That's how broken she was. CVs really need to focus on that pain-it doesn't end easily.
Abhimanyu is very very self centered. He does not have empathy. He was never able to understand Akshara's pain and personality. It's all about him and what he is feeling. Kairav is absolutely right about him- he uses Ruhi as a shield for his pain. And Arohi lets him because he is doting and treating her like a princess. No words for Manjari- she is completely brainless. No words for his relationship with Arohi either- it's not important. Abhimanyu and Manjari have a very toxic relationship- from his wanting a girl like his mom but also molding her to become NOT like his mom. He fell for Akshara because she is gharelu, sensitive, kind, and a singer just like his mom but he wanted her also to be independent, and strong and career oriented. He basically always imagined that he will be a way better husband that his dad because he loved all his mom's qualities but couldn't handle Akshara because she was neither a carbon copy of him mom nor did she listen to him. Akshu should not interfere in his family matters- but Abhimanyu has free pass to do so. Kairav told Abhimanyu all about Akshara and Arohi's history early on so he could help her with it, but Abhimanyu never wanted to share his past- as if he didn't have any trauma going on. Abhimanyu interfered in Akshara's and Aarohi's relationship and worsened it- but Akshu inadvertently brings out Neil's truth out and is slammed for it. There are other numerous examples of this. Akshara is not blameless- she is quite weak and was never career conscious and was quite stubborn. Both made mistakes in their marriage. Akshu wanted unconditional support, she believed in sacrificing and idealistic love while Abhimanyu wanted someone on his own terms no matter what. But before the last leap- they were fixing it, then what happened?
If they get them back together, Abhimanyu has to grovel and beg. He needs to learn to be selfless and win Akshara's trust. She needs to feel cherished by him. Abhir will be a challenge for him, but I want to see actual character progression when he tries to win Akshara. He needs to go through redemption. He needs to see how their relationship can survive in the toxic Birla house with Parth and Shefali and Arohi and Ruhi. He can't ping pong and ignore the other party and do whatever he wants. His decisions will have deep consequences- he can't escape them.
