RS and the writers really did not go into this season with a clear thinking of the main plot. They just thought of a doctor male lead, his snobby doctor family and female lead who would be opposite to that, but they never committed to that plot and actually completely detracted from it by creating a forced love angle and then jumping unnaturally between overdramatic and negative tracks without concluding them properly.
What they should have done is kept the female lead and her passion and ambitions for a singing career being a bone of contention in her well-educated, career-oriented in-laws full of doctors as the main plot and actually properly focused on that. They could have properly developed akshara's aims to create a singing career for herself after marriage with the support of her doctor husband, the opposition and mockery of her in-laws towards her musical ambitions.
They could have shown her facing the rude and disrespectful attitudes of people judging her for being the least educated/ least accomplished in the family and maybe showing akshara becoming famous and how that creates complications and/or conflicts between her, abhi and birla's.
There was so much they could have done with the idea of akshara's career ambitions vs her in-laws's career ambitions and how she has to constantly prove that being part of the creative/ entertainment industry is a respectful career too, because it is a fact many young people who chose this path for their career face resistance from family in favour of wanting their children to go for a more secure and/or traditional high-skilled job.
