Shefali is being abused by parth and nobody except mahima knows it . Parth is blackmailing her saying that if she do something about it , they will never let her see shivu ..her only son. Parth said something like " Birlas h hum .. shivu ko dekhne ko bhi taras jaogi " .

And there she is.. a helpless mother.

They never showed her background .. maybe she don't belongs to a not so strong family . But she herself is a successful journalist . She is even more powerful than entire birla clan for that matter. Maybe she don't want shivu to have a disturbed childhood.

She does lot of makeup to hid her injuries
